Post-meeting note: the <br />application/request was withdrawn. <br /> <br />FORMAL HEARINGS CONTINUED <br /> <br />6 Independence Avenue: <br /> David Carver, presented permit ready drawings for removing and replacing an addition. The <br />commission had one question regarding how the siding will be handled at the transition from the house to the addition. <br />Mr. Carver said he would ask his architect and get the information to the commission. The Commission voted 5-0 to issue <br />a certificate of appropriateness to remove and replace an addition. Certificate No. 2012C-24 <br />Voting Commissioners were: Chairman, Joseph Welch, Daniel Griffin and Robert Warshawer and Associate <br />Commissioners: Carl Oldenburg and Marilyn Fenollosa <br /> <br />31 Somerset Road <br />: Colin Smith, Colin Smith Architecture, representing, Victoria & Don Sullivan, presented plans of the <br />proposed house and hardscape. The Hancock-Clarke Historic District encompasses only part of this property. The District <br />line never touched the existing house; however, the line does touch a corner of the detached Garage. After following <br />proper building department procedures a demolition permit for the house was applied for and approved. Approval from <br />the Historic District Commission is required for a demolition permit for the detached Garage. The placement of the new <br />home on the property brings it under Historic District jurisdiction. The commission members liked the design and <br />materials used for the home. A few commissioners were concerned that the home was not appropriate for the street scape. <br />The commission felt the discussion should be continued due to the amount of information to be reviewed and felt a special <br />hearing was in order. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS <br /> <br />36 Hancock Street:: , <br /> map 56 lot 39BSusan BennettExecutive Director, Hancock-Clarke House, and R. Nicholas <br />Cunningham Eagle Scout applicant presented detailed plans for proposed fence and gate between barn and stone wall, <br />photos showing exactly where the gate will be placed, and a plot plan showing gate placement. Susan Bennett also <br />presented a photo showing where a bike rack will be placed and photos of this bike rack in town. All questions from the <br />April hearing were addressed in the plans. The Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for building <br /> <br />a fence/gate between the barn and the stone wall, and addition of a bike rack. Certificate No. 2012C-26 <br />Voting Commissioners were: Chairman, Joseph Welch, Daniel Griffin and Robert Warshawer and Associate <br />Commissioners: Carl Oldenburg and Marilyn Fenollosa <br /> <br />1454 Massachusetts Avenue: <br />Timothy Lee, presented a site drawing showing the previously approved front fence and <br />gate, updated side plan, and a detail of the front gate. <br />The O’Brien’s are giving their shed to their neighbor at 1436 Massachusetts Avenue. The owner of 1436 Massachusetts <br />Avenue will need to have a formal hearing to add a shed to their property. The Commissioners felt it would be appropriate <br />to remove the shed from 1454 Massachusetts Avenue and put it in place to see how it looked. 1436 Massachusetts <br />Avenue will return for a formal hearing in June. The Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for <br />changing the front fence and gate. In the Battle Green District. <br />Continued until May 3, 20012 by request of Applicant <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMAL HEARINGS <br /> <br />Town Center: <br />David Pinsonneault, Manager of Operations, Town of Lexington, presented a pilot program for a <br />temporary bicycle parking space in front of 1720 Massachusetts Avenue. This parking space will be sectioned off every <br />Saturday morning and opened up Monday Morning. The metal pieces for the corral will be painted black and reflective <br />material will be placed for safety at night. The trial period will go from May 2012 to the end of October 2012. <br /> <br /> <br />
