N (Adjourned Session of the 1980 Annual Town Meeting - Marc 2 4, 19 80.) . <br /> Article 34. Presented by Norman N. Connolly. <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $5,000.00 be appropriated to be expended <br /> by the Board of Health under_ G.L. c.40 s.5(40C) and a contract to be <br /> entered in Lo with Central Middlesex Association for Retarded Citizens, <br /> Inc. (CMARC), which contract shall provide that the funds from the <br /> Town shall be earmarked toward a contract procurement salaried <br /> position for CMARC, and that such amount be raised in the tax levy. <br /> 9:13 P.M. <br /> Robert Cassidy, Director of CMARC, gave an explanation and answered <br /> many questions. At the request of Renee Cochin, Mr. Cassidy read <br /> from the last audit report and stated that the total budget for the <br /> year was $238,847. 9:27 P.M. <br /> Margery M. Battin said that the Board of Selectmen recommended that <br /> the town meeting approve the appropriation of $5,000.00. <br /> Motion, as presented by Mr. Connolly, declared carried unanimously. <br /> 9:28 P.M. <br /> Article 35. Presented by Judith J. Uhrig. <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $14,650.00 be appropriated for the develop- <br /> ment of and upgrading neighborhood playgrounds and parks in such <br /> locations as the Recreation Committee may determine with approval of <br /> the Board of Selectmen, and that such amount be raised in the tax <br /> levy. 9:30 P.M. <br /> Mary W. Miley stated that although the Board of Selectmen are <br /> sympathetic to the work that the Recreation Committee has been <br /> doing, they are not in accord with this request. They feel that <br /> this project could be done within their regular operating budget. <br /> 9:33 P.M. <br /> Nyles Nathan Barnert expressed the support of the Capital Expendi- <br /> tures Committee and Donald B. White said that the Appropriation <br /> Committee did not support the motion. 9:34 P.M. <br /> Renee Cochin served notice of reconsideration of Article 34. 9:37 P.M. <br /> Article 35. Mary W. Miley said that the Selectmen feel that this year is not <br /> (Cont.) the year for these programs. 9:39 P.M. <br /> Motion, as presented by Mrs. Uhrig under Article 35, declared <br /> carried unanimously. 9:46 P.M. <br /> Article 36. Presented by Manfred P.
