Er. Kimball stated that while this petition is advocated <br />for a filling station, it brings into a commercial zone, a non- <br />conforming use. He also stated. that the arguments presented <br />were in regard to the gasoline station but the petition brought <br />before the Town included the whole area. <br />Mr. Stone replied that it was not the present intention <br />to make any material change to the Rest Inn outside of repairs <br />which will be made from time to time. <br />Mr. Kimball advised that <br />was changed, the Lexington Inn <br />of business'up up in its placd. <br />if the zoning of this whole area <br />could be demolished and any sort <br />Mr. Mullen stated that if the building burned, it would <br />be beyond their power to repair it and that they are trying to <br />safeguard their interests. 'He said that before the Zoning Law <br />was adopted, Ieir. Emery told them that if they would allow the <br />`Lown to get a segment of the circle on Fottler Avenue and agree <br />not to build within it, he would see that°this Rest Inn property <br />was put into a business district. Mr. Iuiullen then stated that <br />the segment of the cirele.on Fottler Avenue, 30 feet, was taken <br />and they were under the impression that their land was in a <br />business zone but leter found that it was residential. <br />Mr. Greeley stated that the plan of the proposed gasoline <br />station called for wood siding and Kr. Stone replied that the <br />present intention is to build'of brick. <br />Mr. Greeley asked if there were -any others who avished.to <br />speak in favor of the change. <br />Messrs. Prendergast and Dooley both stated that they <br />wished to be recorded as being in favor of the change. <br />N'.r. Greeley asked for other speakers in regard to the <br />hearing, as as there were none, declared the hearing closed at <br />8:45 P.
