<br />3. 1387 Massachusetts Avenue - Approved #2004C-3 <br />Petitioner – Douglas McDonald <br />Re: Exterior Changes – Paving <br /> <br /> <br />The petitioner received approval for the installation of Millstone Tumbled Pavers, by <br />Ideal Concrete Block Company, for an approximately 30’-0” x 33’-0” area in front of the <br />existing garage. The board asked that the existing concrete apron at the garage be <br />removed and replaced with the approved pavers as well. The remaining gravel driveway <br />will remain unchanged. <br /> <br />The petitioner also received approval to construct an approximately 29’-0” x 15’-0” <br />bluestone patio with a bluestone wall at one corner extending approximately 6 to 8 feet <br />along one edge and 13 to 15 feet at the adjacent edge. <br /> <br /> <br />4. 1690 Massachusetts Avenue - Approved #2004C-4 <br />Petitioner – Cohoes – Hazel Hopkins <br />Re: Signage <br /> <br />The petitioner presented an approximately 13’-9”L x 3’-0” H tenant sign with the word <br />“COHOES” made of 2” wide “Sintra” letters laminated with gold color, with edges of the <br />letters painted black, and mounted directly to the buildings brick façade with stainless <br />steel anchors. The sign was met with overwhelming disapproval. <br /> <br />After much discussion the Commission approved the signage as follows: <br />?? <br />3’-0” H x 13’-9” L with 2” letters <br />?? <br />sign-foam construction <br />?? <br />gold leaf (23k) on the entire exposed surface <br />?? <br />letters to have eased edges <br />?? <br />stainless steel anchors, placed at mortar joints only <br />?? <br />standing letters set-off façade approximately ½” <br />?? <br />Existing building lighting will remain above the sign <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMAL HEARINGS: <br /> <br />1. 7 Slocum Road <br />Petitioner – William Delaney <br />Re: Demolition <br /> <br />Mr. Delaney is in the early stages of investigating options for the development of the <br />property located at 7 Slocum Road. The options presented include adding a second floor <br />of living space or demolition and full replacement of the existing structure. The <br />commission indicated its strong position in preserving structures deemed significant from <br /> <br />
