Selectmen' s Meeting <br />- 3- April 11, 1988 <br />Alan M. Levine <br />Kevin McGuire <br />Margaret Rawls <br />Donald Chisholm <br />Neighbor, conservationist <br />Investment officer <br />Town Meeting Manber <br />Recreation Committee <br />As suggested by Mr. Eddison, Selectmen Dailey and Smith agreed to <br />take the responsibility for convening the first meeting of the <br />Committee, <br />The Board also voted to appoint members of the Advisory Board cn <br />Pine Meadows as Special Municipal Employees, <br />RESIGNATION, H. F.A.C. <br />Mr. Eddison noted a letter of resignation received from Peter <br />Barker, Lexington's representative on the Hanscom Field Advisory <br />Commission. He spoke of the efforts expended by Mr. Barker as a <br />Commissioner and asked for suggestions as to his replacement. <br />Mrs . Smith left the meeting at this time and did not participate in <br />the discussion because of her involvement with Massport. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded. it was voted to accept with <br />regret the resignation of Peter Barker as Lexington representative to <br />the Hanscom Field Advisory Commission, mission, effective immediately. <br />QUABBIN AND WARE WA PF40TECTION <br />Mr. Eddi son referred to a memo to the Board from Mrs. Smith <br />con g the request by the MDC for support of Towns within the MWRA <br />area for proposed regulations to protect the Quahbin Reservoir/ Ware <br />River Watersheds, overuse by dirt bikes and other motorized vehicles, <br />illegal camrrpsites, disposal of hazardous substances and the use of <br />motorboats at the Quabbin Reservoir and Ware River areas were noted as <br />having adverse affects on water quality. <br />Mrs. Smith suggested that a letter expressing the Board's view in <br />support of the NDC proposals be sent to the Superintendent of the <br />Quahbin Section, NDC. The letter will include bans on certain harmful <br />recreational activities, and will be based on a draft letter prepared by <br />Mrs. Smith. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 7:40 <br />p.m. <br />A true record, Attest: <br />Marion H.
