S te' . ' S MEETING . <br />April 13, 1988 , <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Wednesday, <br />April 13, 1988, in the Selectmen's Meeting Roam, Town Office Building . <br />at 7:00 p.m. Chairman Eddison, Mr. Marshall, Mr. McSweeney; Mr. White, <br />Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Mrs. Snow. Executive Clerk, were <br />present. Mrs. Smith and Mr. Dailey arrived later in the meeting. <br />NEW POLICE OFFIC.ERS <br />Chief F urdon was present to introduce Dana Ham and Paul Callahan,, <br />newly appointed as Police Officers. Captains Kilmartin and Taylor also <br />were present. Chief Furdon spoke of the high grades received by the men <br />at the Police Academy and his expectations that they will be a credit to <br />the Lexington Force. Members of the Board welcomed the two Officers and <br />offered congratulations on their accomplishments. <br />GIFT, STA M HILL POST <br />Neil Cronin, representing Stanley Hill American Legion Post #38 <br />presented the Board with a check for $2,000.00 to be added to funds in <br />the American Legion Trust Fund,, the interest from which is transferred <br />to the Town Celebrations Committee budget for use for Patriots' Day, <br />Memorial-Day Day and Veterans' Day observances, <br />The Cha irman ri expressed the appreciation of the Board for this <br />generous gesture. <br />CLEAN & '88 CAMPAIGN <br />Mr. Eddison noted the request of David Williams and Charles W <br />for the Board's endorsement of the 1988 Clean and Green Campaign. The <br />campaign is scheduled for two weeks, starting April 23 with <br />participation by various volunteer groups on conservation lands and <br />school grounds. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to endorse the <br />1988 Clean & Green Campaign, to be coordinated by Mr. Williams and Mr. <br />N.E. TEL & TEL AND B0ST0N E DISON PETITION, PR0SPECT HILL PDAD <br />Frank Fields, Town Engineer, was present to explain the petition of <br />the Telephone and Edison Companies for relocation of five utility poles <br />on Prospect Hill, necessary to accommodate construction of sidewalk. A <br />Public Hearing on the petition was not required. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded. it was voted to approve the <br />petition, plans and orders of the New England Telephone and Telegraph <br />Ccmpan and Boston Edi son Company for the purpose of relocation of five <br />poles on Prospect Hill, on the northerly side going westerly. <br />MAY MEETING A <br />It was agreed that Selectmen's Meetings would be held on May 2, May <br />4 , May 9, May 16, and May 23, subject to change if necessary to <br />coordinate with Town Meeting Sessions. <br />AVAILABLE LANCES ■ REPORT TO MW •_ G <br />Mr. White reviewed his report to Town Meeting dated April 11 on <br />available funds as of that date taking into consideration moneys <br />allocated and Articles pending or up for reconsideration. <br />
