�t <br />t - - <br />Selectmen's Meeting <br />March 1, 1982 <br />After discussion, the Board went into Execu S essions <br />'upon motion duly rude and seconded, it was voted 4 by roll call <br />vote, Mr. Busa, Mrs, Baton, Mrs. Miley, Mr. Crain and Mr. Politi, to <br />go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the sale, lease <br />or transfer of real estate. <br />After discussion the open Session was resumed. <br />Developer: Niles De Associates <br />Architect: Childs, Bcr tma.n, Tseckares and Casendino, Inc. <br />Contractor: Wexler Construction Co. <br />Consultant and Structural Engineering: Luigi DiNapoli, Engineers <br />Design Group <br />Concept: Supportive Housing (Consultant: John C. Wrightson <br />Mr. John Niles, President of Files Company, Inc. presented the <br />p ropo s al and explained that the concept focused primarily in meeting the <br />needs of the elderly who are in good health and do no re nursing <br />home cake but are finding it difficult to maintain heir own homes. <br />Occupancy would be limited to persons sixty -two years of age or older. <br />It would provide sixty -one units of supportive housing for the elderly <br />and a. senior center to be operated by the Town which would be available <br />to all elderly residents of the Town. Each unit would have its own <br />kitchen, bath,, living room and one or two bedrooms. Services provided <br />would include a professionally trained staff including an executive dir- <br />ector, prefe sional health care coordinator with a social work background, <br />activities director and dietary consultant. Other services would include <br />one main meal per day, weekly house cleaning, weekly linen service and a <br />coordinated program of acitvitie . <br />The Plan called for 10, 000 sq. ft. of space for professional <br />offices on the ground floor primarily for physicians and other profess- <br />ional health care offices. Professional office space would have a <br />separate entrance and parking located away from the housing and senior <br />center, <br />M r. Casendino, architect explained the floor plans, site plans <br />and utilization of the building. There would be 133 parking spaces, <br />approximately 30 spaces for the professional office use and 35 spaces <br />for the Council on Aging and senior center. The housing units would be <br />of fered on a rental basis with long-term ownership and management by the <br />Niles Co. and its related entities.
