AUTHORIZE SPECIAL LEGISLATION TO AMEND <br /> SELECTMEN -TOWN MANAGER ACT <br /> Stephen Michael Politi moved that this article be tabled which <br /> was declared adopted by voice vote. 8:37 P.M. <br /> (See Pages 234 and 235.) <br /> Article 9. AUTHORIZE SPECIAL LEGISLATION CREATE <br /> HOUSING ASSISTANCE BOARD <br /> Margery M. Battin moved that Article 9 be postponed to Wednesday <br /> evening, April 6. 8:37 P.M. <br /> Mrs. Battin stated that the Selectmen have not come to an agree- <br /> ment regarding the charge to LEXHAB. 8:38 P.M. <br /> Arthur C. Smith and Julian J. Bussgang both expressed the desire <br /> for a written and not an oral report when the Selectmen do come <br /> to an agreement. 8:42 P.M. <br /> Mrs. Battin answered that it was not physically possible to have <br /> a written report for Wednesday as the Board does not meet until <br /> 7 P.M. on that evening. She added that town meeting would decide <br /> if it wished town meeting to be extended in order that this report <br /> (written) could be available before the vote on Article 9. <br /> 8:43 P.M. <br /> James M. McLaughlin, a member of the Lexington Housing Authority, <br /> stated that the Housing Authority would like to have this article <br /> taken up in May and would like to have a written report. <br /> 8:45 P.M. <br /> William J. Scouler moved to amend: moved to postpone this article <br /> until the first session of this meeting in the month of May. <br /> 8:50 P.M. <br /> Mrs. Battin explained that the Selectmen felt that there was an <br /> urgency in:regards to this article, the reason for the postponement <br /> date of April 6, but they would be comfortable with the May post - <br /> ponement if Town Meeting Members wish it. 8:51 P.M. <br /> Mr. Scouler's motion to amend to postpone until the first session <br /> of this meeting in the month of May was declared adopted by voice <br /> vote. 8:53 P.M. <br /> Main motion, as amended, declared adopted by voice vote. 8:54 P.M. <br /> (The motion, as adopted, postpones action on Article 9 until the <br /> first session of this meeting in the month of May.) <br /> (See Pages 235 and 272) <br /> Article 10. TRANSFER OF TOWN OWNED <br /> LAND TO CONSERVATION <br /> Presented by Angela E. Frick. <br /> (As, MOTION: That the Conservation Commission be authorized to purchase <br /> adopted) or otherwise acquire, and the Selectmen be authorized to take by <br /> eminent domain, upon the written request of the Conservation <br /> Commission, and that the Selectmen be authorized to transfer, for <br /> conservation purposes including outdoor recreation as provided by <br /> Section 8C of Chapter 40 of the General Laws, as amended, any fee, <br /> easement or conservation restriction as defined in Section 31 of <br /> Chapter_ 184 of the General Laws, or other interest in all or any <br /> part of land shown as Lot 19 on Assessors' Property Map 58. <br /> 8:55 P.M. <br /> Mrs. Frick showed a slide of the location and gave a short <br /> explanation. 9 P.M. <br />
