ARTICLE 10 (c) <br />Project: Park Improvements - Athletic Fields - Muzzey Field <br />CPA Category: Recreational Resources <br />Amount Requested: $ 155,000 <br />Amount Recommended: $ 155,000 <br />CPC Vote: (8-0) <br />Project Description: <br />This FY22 request will fund the Muzzey Field renovation, including irrigation upgrades, laser <br />grading and the installation of new natural grass. Two accessible paths, one on each side of the <br />field, will also be installed. This is an ongoing multi-year capital program to address safety and <br />playability concerns and to provide adequate and safe field conditions for neighborhood <br />facilities, recreation and school programs. <br />Project Goals and Objectives: <br />Upgrade irrigation and laser grading; <br />Renovate the field to a condition where it will be safe, playable and more easily <br />maintained; and <br />• Update the fields to comply with ADA standards. <br />Project Benefit: <br />The improvements proposed as part of this project will enhance the area's safety and <br />accessibility by preventing continuing deterioration of the fields which may lead to injuries and <br />cancellation of games. The field renovation will allow for continued high use for a wide range of <br />users, including residents as well as the Lexington Public Schools. <br />Funding Request: <br />$155,000 is requested in FY22. Subsequent FY23 - FY25 requests are anticipated for similar <br />upgrades to the athletic fields at the Fiske School Field, Bridge School Field and Bowman Field. <br />10 <br />
