McCormack and Albert C. Brun for <br />tentative approval of a preliminary plan of land be- <br />tween Maple and 1:1oburn streets and located adjacent <br />to the Harrington School. Pir. Snow reported on his <br />examination with Recreational Director Samborski of <br />said land which had been previously discussed as a <br />possible site for a playground. He stated that the <br />Recreation Committee wished the Planning Board to <br />obtain an option for the purchase of lour or five acres <br />of said i'icCorm.-ack-Brun land adjacent to the Harrington <br />School, the exact size to be determined by r. Snow <br />after a detailed study indicating the best development <br />for recreational purposes. <br />Concerning the preliminary plan there was dis- <br />cussed also the relocation of the street abutting the <br />school site, said relocation to be recommended whether <br />or not the proposed recreation site was to be acquired. <br />Thereupon it was moved by -ir. Jaquith, seconded by Kr. <br />Soule and unanimously ' <br />VOTED: that the preliminary subdivision plan <br />entitled "Plan Showing Proposed Lotting <br />Land in Lexington -Kass.", dated Jan. 15, <br />.1957, together with the application for <br />tentative approval of preliminary plan <br />dated Apr. 26, 1957 and submitted on <br />April 29, 1957 be and hereby is approved <br />subject to the conditions that an area <br />for acquisition by the Tom for recreation <br />purposes be set aside in the southeasterly <br />side of the Property, that the street lay- <br />out be adjusted to provide for said re- <br />creation area and to conform to the Plan- <br />ning Board's study plan for the neighbor- <br />hood. <br />80..
