431 <br />fibers will not get into anything. <br />Mr. McLaughlin, Chairman of the Housing Authority asked Mr. Smith if he would <br />put something in writing stating that everything must be removed from the basement <br />during the removal of the asbestos. <br />Mr. Smith said he cannot be there during this removal process but he will <br />send Mrs. Halko. <br />After a brief discussion Mrs. Sullivan and Mr. McLaughlin thanked the Board <br />and retired. <br />At 8:15 p.m. Mr, Tony Gentile and Mr. William Hamilton of Landmark Associates <br />for Maple Tree Village Subdivision came before the Board. <br />They discussed with the Board their proposal for drainage of this land MAPLE <br />and said the standing water will all be taken care of. TREE <br />VILLAGE <br />The Board checked out the plans for this subdivision. <br />Mr. Hamilton said the subdivision will consist of 4 houses: 1 standing house <br />and three new ones. He said the Conservation Commission has issued their orders and <br />he also will go to the D.E.Q.E. before the sewer is put in. <br />After further disucssion Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Gentile thanked the Board and <br />retired. <br />At 8:40 Jean Nichols, Ph.D., John Murphy, Ph.D. of Seragen came before <br />the Board. Also present was Ashton C. Stocker, of S.R. Costello Associates SERAGEN <br />for Seragen. <br />Dr. Nichols explained how Seragen was interested in coming to Lexington <br />in the Ledgemont Lab and their interest is the same as Collaborative Research. <br />she said they came before the Board to explain their interest in coming <br />to Lexington and to tell them a little bit about their company. <br />Dr. Nichols gave an explanation of how the company started and expanded <br />several ways into the present company.. In Lexington she said they would like to <br />do production/toxcology studies. <br />Dr. Murphy went into some detail what the company plans to do in research. <br />Mr. Lambie told the Seragen people how there is an appointed committee <br />studying the TDNA and they are drafting regulations for this research in this <br />town. He said we are not sure what will happen. We will take the finished draft <br />to a public hearing and then take the draft and complete it. We can not promise <br />anything at this time. <br />Dr. Murphy would like the Board to follow the NIH Guidelines but Dr. Roemer <br />said the NIH Guidelines are changeable. <br />Dr. Nichols said they would be very happy to bring their company to Lexington. <br />
