430 <br />RAYTHEON <br />SANITARIAN'S <br />REPORT <br />Mrs. Caraldo's son said he would send the Board a copy of the letter <br />that the Town of Arlington has sent to him stating that they do not plan <br />to renew their contract for dumping with the Cataldo's and dumping will <br />cease on June 30, 1984. <br />Dr. Roemer asked why we were signing the Raytheon Food Service Permit <br />when they have not complied with the "no smoking" by-law. <br />The Board discussed this issue and said there is only a $20.00 fine <br />and their permit probably wouldn't be revoked. <br />Mr. Smith thinks that Raytheon should be brought into the Board <br />Meeting. <br />It was decided to invite them into a Board Meeting to discuss why <br />they haven't set aside a non-smoking section. <br />Mr. Smith said he would write to them and invite them into a meeting. <br />Mrs. Halko, Sanitarian, reported to the Board that she has been <br />inspecting the school cafeterias. There are no big problems in the schools <br />except they are using the unused dishmachines to pile things up in. <br />There have been changes in the state regulations for semi-public.. <br />and public pools this year. Lifeguards have to be at least 17 years old and <br />the other change is that depth markings have to be on the decks besides in the <br />pool. The state is stricter this year. <br />Mrs. Halko said that she and Mr. Smith would like to run a seminar <br />for pool managers, guards, etc. before the next year's pool opening. She <br />feels that this would be beneficial for the operation of the semi-public <br />and public pools. <br />Mrs. Halko told the Board that she worked at the annual rabies clinic <br />this year. <br />WADING Mr. Smith told the Board there still is a problem in the wading pool <br />POOL at the Centre Playground. Children's feet are still being scraped and cut. <br />CENTRE It cannot be painted because it would become too slippery. At this point <br />PLAY no one can figure out what is causing the problem. They are going to have <br />ROUND the pool hand sanded to see if this will solve the problem. <br />At 7:50 p.m. Mrs. Rita Sullivan, Executive Director of the Lexington <br />Housing Authority and Jim MCLaughlin; Chairman of the Housing Authority, <br />came before the Board, <br />Mrs. Sullivan told the Board that a "rental property" of the Lexington <br />Housing Authority has a serious asbesto problem. This house had been <br />relocated from Lincoln to Wood Street, Lexington when the National Park took <br />oyer Pone of the Lincoln property. The pipes in the cellar have asbesto <br />insulation. <br />Mrs. Sullivan wrote to the State for funds to have the asbestos removed <br />and wanted the Board's approval to do this asbestos removal. <br />The house is occupied now and it is not recommended that the tenants <br />move out but Mrs. Sullivan was told to have the tenants remove everything <br />from the basement the day that the asbestos is removed so that the asbestos <br />
