Selectman Mr. Ferguson offers the following mo- <br />tion. <br />Voted: That the Town accept Section 07, Chapter 205, of <br />the Acts of 11}35 amending Chapter 33 of the General Laws, an <br />Act relative to Military Service of County Employees, which <br />reads as follows: "Any person in the service of .the Common- <br />wealth, or of a county, city or town thereof which, by vote of its <br />County cownrissione}s or city council or of its inhabitants at a <br />town meeting, accepts this section, shall be entitled, during the <br />time of bis service in the organized) militia, under sections sev- <br />enteen, twenty-five, twenty-six, one hundred and twenty-three <br />and one hundred and eighty-one, or during his annual tour of <br />duty, not exceeding fifteen days, as a member of the organized <br />reserve of the army of the United States or of the United States <br />naval reserve forces. to receive pay therefor, without loss of his <br />ordinary remuneration as an employee or official of the coir, <br />nutnwcallh or such comity, city or town, and shall also be en - <br />tilled to the sante leaves of absence or vacation with pay given <br />to other litre employees or officials_" Carried Unanimously <br />8:23 P. Selectman Mr. Ferguson offers the following oto <br />Voted : That the Town attend the vote adopted at the An- <br />nual Town _3Ieeting, llarclt 4, 1935, and adjourned to March <br />18, 1935, which reads as follows: <br />"Vo'ted: That the Selectmen be authorized to complete the <br />construction of l.'leasant. and Watertown Streets to the New <br />Concord 'Turnpike, a distance of approximately 2000 feet, un- <br />der Chapter 90 0l' the General Laws, and amendmnents, provid- <br />ing the State and County contribute a like amount, and for <br />110 TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />the purpose of said construction the sum of $9,000.00 be appro- <br />priated and assessed" so as to provide for an appropriation of <br />*9,000. for the construction of a portion of Pleasant and Water- <br />town Streets, to be expended in conjunction with money to be <br />contributed by the Commonwealth and the County. Selectman Mr. Ferguson offers the following <br />motion. <br />Voted: That the Town appropriate and transfer the sura <br />of $1,000. from the Excess and Deficiency Account to be added <br />to the appropriation for the construction of a portion of Pleas- <br />ant and Watertown Streets, to be expended in conjunction with <br />money to be contributed by the Commonwealth and the County. <br />Carried Unanimously 8:30 P. M. <br />Article 8. Selectman Mr. Fergersou offers the following <br />motion. <br />Voted: That the Town attend the vote adopted at the <br />Annual Town Meeting, March 4, 1935, and adjourned to March <br />18, 1935, which reads as follows: "Voted that the Selectmen <br />be authorized to construct Lincoln Street, from Marrett Road <br />in a northeasterly direction, a distance of 3600 feet, under <br />Chapter 90 of the General Laws, and amendments, providing <br />the State and County contribute a like amount, and for the <br />purpose of said construction the sum of $12,000.00 be appro- <br />priated and assessed," so as to provide for an appropriation of <br />*12,000.00 for the construction of a portion of Lincoln Street, <br />from Marrett Road in a northeasterly direction, to be expended <br />in conjunction with money- to be contributed by the Common- <br />wealth and the County. <br />Question by Mr. Sarano of an outline of the work to be <br />done.
