TOWN OF LEXINGTON 83 <br />of the Town of the sum of Elevon thousand dollars bearing <br />interest at a rate not to exceed five per cent issued and pay- <br />able as provided by law." <br />The original vote offered by Mr. Burnham read "a sir <br />inch water main." <br />On motion of J. Henry Duffy ,it was voted to amend <br />the motion by striking out "six inch" and inserting the <br />words "of such size as the Selectmen may determine." <br />Article 7. Under this article Albert H. Burnham offer- <br />ed the following- motion: <br />"Voted, That the sum of $5,000 be appropriated for the <br />construction of additional sewers and that the money be <br />raised by the issuance of bonds or notes under authority <br />of and in accordance with the provisions of "Town of Lex- <br />ington Sewer Loan Act of 1913," and that the Town Treas- <br />urer by and hereby is authorized to sell, under the direction <br />and with the aproval of the Selctmen bonds or notes of the <br />town bearing interest at a rate not to exceed 41/2 per cent per <br />annum." <br />Arthur E. Hutchinson moved indefinite postponement <br />of the Article, but his motion was lost. <br />Edward Wood moved an amendment that the `F5.000 be <br />spent on some definite street. Mr. Wood's amendment <br />was lost. <br />A rising vote was then taken on the original motion <br />which was passed by a vote of 86 in favor and 10 against. <br />Article 8. On motion of Albert H. Burnham it was <br />"Voted, that the Selectmen be instructed to install the <br />necessary number. of street Lights on Hillside Avenue, <br />Massachusetts Avenue Terrace, East Lexington. <br />Article 11. On motion of George M. Davis it was <br />"Voted, that the name of St. Margaret Avenue be changed <br />to Woodland Road. <br />Article 12. On notion of Albert H. Burnham it was <br />"Voted, That the following sums be tranferred to the fol- <br />lowing Accounts from the General revenue and Surplus Ac- <br />count: <br />insurance $350.00 <br />Libraries $300.00 <br />(including $100 for Stone Bldg. repairs.) <br />84 <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />Lowering Brooks 500.00 <br />Parks and Playgrounds , 3,000.00 <br />Article 13. Under this Article, C. Eliot IIadle} offered <br />the folowing motion: <br />"Voted, That the Chief of the Fire Department he <br />authorized to install a fire alarm box at the corner of Mass- <br />achusetts Avenue and Oak Street and that $200 be trans- <br />ferred from the General Revenue and Surplus Account to <br />pay for the same."
