TOWN OF LEXINGTON s5 <br />TOWN WARRANT <br />Commonwealth of Massachusetts i1Iu1.11^sex, <+. <br />To either of the Constables of the town of Lexington. <br />Greeting: <br />T.1. the name of the Commonwealth you are hereby <br />required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said town <br />who are qualified to vote in Elections to meet in <br />Emerson Hall, Stone Puildina , East Lexington, ( Precinct 1) <br />and in Town Hall, Lexington Centre, (T'recinct 2.), on <br />Tuesday, the fourth day of November, 1924, n.t six o'clock <br />A. M.. to cast their ballots for the folloning office, -s: <br />Presidential Electors; Governor; Lieuten+'nt Governor: <br />Secretary; Treasurer; Auditor; Attorney -General ; Senator <br />in Congress; Congressman; Councillor; Senator; Repre- <br />sentative in Gene-ral Court; County Commissioners; Reg- <br />ister of Probate and Insolvency; and County Treasurer. <br />And to bring in their votes on the follova;n questions: <br />Acceptance of the following "Proposed A:acndrents <br />to the Constitution," <br />Article of Amendment. <br />1. Article III of the Amendments to the Constitution, <br />as amended, is hereby- further amended by striking out, <br />in the first line, the word "male.' <br />Article of Amendment. <br />2. Section 1. No person shall be deemed ineligible to <br />hold state, county or municipal office by reason of sex. <br />Section 2. Article TV of the erti.cles of amendment <br />of the constitution of the comonwealth. as amended b' - <br />Article T.VTT of said amendments, is hereby further amend- <br />ed by stricking out the words "Change of name shall render <br />the commission void, but shall not prevent reappointment <br />under the new name." and inserting in place thereof the <br />following words :—Upon the change of name of any woman, <br />she shall re -register under her new name and shall pay such <br />fee therefor as shall be established by the General court. <br />3. Acceptance of Chap. 370, Acts of 1923. entitled "An <br />Act relative to intoxicating liquors and certain non -intoxi- <br />cating beverages." <br />4. Acceptance of Chap. 454, Acts of 1923, entitled "An <br />Act to provide funds toward the cost of construction and <br />maintenance of highways and bridges by means of an excise <br />86 ANNUAL REPORT <br />tax on gasoline and other fuel used for propelling motor <br />vehicles upon or over the highways of the Commonwealth." <br />5. Acceptance of Chap. 473, Acts of 1923, entitled "An <br />Act relating to deposits with others than banks.' <br />6. Acceptance of Chap. 210, Acts of 1924, entitled; <br />"An Act to ascertain the will of the people with reference <br />to the retention of the daylight saving law, so-called." <br />7. Acceptance of Chap. 509, Acts of 1924, entitled, <br />"An Act to ascertain the opinion of the people of the com- <br />monwealth as to the ratification of the proposed amendment <br />to the constitution of the United States empowering the <br />Congress to limit, regulate and prohibit the labor of persons <br />under eighteen years of age." <br />The polls will be open from six o'clock A. M. to six <br />o'clock P. M. <br />And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting <br />attested copies thereof seven days at least before the time <br />of said meeting as directed by vote of the town. <br />Hereof, fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, <br />with your doings thereon, at the time and place of said <br />meeting. <br />Given under our hands, this twenty-first day of October, <br />A.
