Voted, That Article 11 be taken up in <br />connection with Articles 3 and 4, so that ballots can <br />be cast on this question at the same time as for <br />town officers. <br />At the close of the polls the ballot -box register <br />stood at :49. Voted, That all taxes for the current <br />year be made payable on or before Dec. 1, 1889, and <br />that a discount of one half of one per cent per month <br />for all full months prior to said date be deducted for <br />prompt payment, and that all taxes remaining unpaid <br />at that date be subject to interest at the rate of six <br />per cent per annum, and that the collector be <br />instructed to collect all taxes before May 1, 1890. <br />ART. 14. Voted, That the town authorize their <br />Treasurer, under the direction of the Selectmen, to <br />borrow money for any necessary purpose, in anticipa- <br />tion of the collection of taxes the current year, the <br />same to be paid directly from the proceeds of said <br />taxes. <br />ART. 15. Voted, That the sum of two hundred <br />dollars be appropriated from money in the treasury, <br />and that the money be expended under the direction <br />of a committee to be appointed by the Lexington <br />Historical Society. <br />Aim% 16. Voted, That the sum of five hundred <br />dollars be appropriated to build sidewalks with con- <br />crete or other material, where the abutters will pay <br />one half the expense thereof. <br />
