ARTICLE 14 TOWN BUILDING ENVELOPE PROGRAM <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to remodel, reconstruct and make <br /> extraordinary repairs to town buildings; determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax <br /> levy, by transfer from available funds, by borrowing, or by any combination of these methods; or <br /> act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $200,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds to finance a number of small but important <br /> building capital repairs. These projects include but are not limited to the following: rebuild <br /> entrance stairs and repair the roof of Cary Memorial Building; replace the boiler, upgrade the <br /> electrical system, replace the emergency generator, and fix basement floor under drain at Fire <br /> Station headquarters. This is the same program proposed in FY 97 except that the roofs at the <br /> Fire Station Headquarters and Visitors' Center were approved under Article 12 of 1996. <br /> ARTICLE 15 DPW MOWER REPLACEMENT <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to replace a mower for the <br /> Department of Public Works; determine whether the money shall be provided from insurance <br /> funds; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $47,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article will allow the Town to purchase a replacement for a 1990 Toro <br /> tractor mower which was declared a total loss due to fire on October 1, 1996. A check has <br /> been received from the insurance company for $47,000. Town Meeting authorization is <br /> needed to use the insurance money to purchase a replacement mower. <br /> OTHER FINANCIAL <br /> ARTICLE 16 BROOK MAINTENANCE <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to clean and maintain streams and brooks in <br /> the Town; determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy, or by transfer from <br /> available funds, or by any combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the Conservation Commission) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $30,000 <br /> 17 <br />
