ARTICLE 11 STREET RELATED IMPROVEMENTS <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for highway improvements under the <br /> authority of Chapter 90 of the General Laws and any other applicable law; determine whether the <br /> money shall be provided by the tax levy, by transfer from available funds, or by borrowing, or by <br /> any combination of these methods; authorize the Selectmen to apply for, accept, expend and <br /> borrow in anticipation of state aid for such projects; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $700,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests $700,000 of State Chapter 90 highway funds to pave <br /> approximately six miles of streets. <br /> ARTICLE 12 AUTOMATED WATER METER READING SYSTEM <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of an automated water <br /> meter reading system for the Department of Public Works; determine whether the money shall be <br /> provided by the tax levy, by transfer from available funds, including any special water funds, or by <br /> borrowing, or by any combination of these methods; authorize the Selectmen to apply for, accept, <br /> expend and borrow in anticipation of federal and state aid, including the local financial assistance <br /> program of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority; or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $550,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests water enterprise funds of$550,000 to replace 10,000 <br /> domestic water meters with a new automated meter reading and billing system. The Town <br /> anticipates MWRA grant money in addition to the use of Water Enterprise funds. <br /> ARTICLE 13 PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of equipment for the <br /> Department of Public Works; determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy, by <br /> transfer from available funds, or by borrowing, or by any combination of these methods; or act in <br /> any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $392,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds for new and replacement public works equipment. <br /> In FY 98 fourteen pieces of equipment are being proposed to be purchased. <br /> 16 <br />
