Colonel Bary suggests that this budget be taken up with the Board of Selectmen. The Assistant Superintendent Is a youngster rho rill go out on the job and finally be able to take over the iob of Superintendent of Public Works. There is a need for a Chief Clerk in the Superintendent's office besides the three girls . Colonel Barry said they need someone rho has had administration experience. He states that the filing of the present girls is atrocious . He intends to take one of the present clerks and divide her time up between the Water and Serer Department. Public works - Superintendent 's Office - Expenses. Included in the item of Office Equipment and Repair is J225.00 for a new Adding Machine. Town Offices and Cary Memorial IPuilding - Personal Services. This Is the same as last year. Town Offices and Cary Memorial Building - Expenses. Colonel Barry stated that a great deal of painting is needed in the Cary Memorial Hall. The amount asked for in Sundry Items is to take care of the fireproofing of the curtains. The 300.00 in the budget for curtains is for the Selectmen' s Room and was requested by the Board of Selectmen. Serer Maintenance - Personal Services. The clerk figured in this budget is the present clerk, Alice Corbett. Sewer Maintenance - —ages and Expenses. The amount asked for under Equipment and Repair is to repair the present sewer machine. Equipment Rental - for the use of Town trucks on sewer jobs. Pumping' Station - 500.00 requested is to provide for a new floor, as the present floor is completely gone. Colonel Barry stated that the auxiliary gas motor in the Pumping Station should be gone over. Pipe and Fittings - at present the Town is running out of materials needed for repairs, and this ammnt is to replenish same. Sewer Maintenance - Services - amount requested - ft3,500.00. Colonel Barry st-ted that the Town gets this money back as the owners pay all the charges. If the Town builds the Manor serer, there will probably be 244 house connections at an estimated cost of M.00 each. Serer Construction - Sundry Streets. This is the Manor sewer system figured by the Town Vnoineer r. year ago.
