"Department Heads : - There are no Department Heads that <br /> rate or are scheduled for increases. <br /> Public works Department : - The present hourly rates <br /> seem sufficient, together with the amount of overtime they <br /> can put in. <br /> Senior Clerks : - There are three Senior Clerks not <br /> getting present top of 331.05. They ret 327.00. We think <br /> a $2.00 increase for these three would be well. <br /> Junior Clerks : - There are fii-e Junior Clerks not <br /> getting; the $25.30 top. For these re think a -31.00 <br /> increase is proper. <br /> All '_gull Time employees are now paid in <br /> excess of the previous salary schedule." <br /> The Appropriation Committee, while waiting for <br /> Colonel Barry, started to go ever some of the Budgets. The <br /> first budget considered was the Fire Department Personal <br /> Services - total amount of $49,163.50. <br /> A motion was made, seconded and voted that this <br /> budget be approved in the sum of $49,163.50. <br /> The Committee then started on the Fire Department - <br /> Expenses Account, but no action was taken as Colonel Barry <br /> arrived at this meeting at 8:30 P.M. <br /> The first budget d!scussed by Colonel Barry was <br /> Highway Road Machinery Account - Capital Outlay. This budget <br /> includes all new equipment; power shovel to be 1/2 cubic <br /> yard capacity; trailer - this is requested to use for loading <br /> the shovel, tractor and so forth from one place to another; <br /> the two 3 1/2 ton trucks which the Selectmen have requested <br /> are to be added to this budget. They are of the "Internationale' <br /> make. Colonel Barry stated that only one passenger car is <br /> available now for the Department of Public Works. <br /> The present snow storm has cost, up to 5 :00 P.M. <br /> this evening, 33,490.50. The new snow loader Purchased by <br /> the Town loads a ten cubic yard body truck in three-quarters <br /> of a minute. Colonel Barry said that during snow storms the <br /> Torn is divided into twelve districts, and in each district <br /> two trucks are needed which means 24 trucks are needed to take <br /> care of each snow storm. <br />
