268 <br /> Gary-felt it important that at that meeting no commitments <br /> were made for the Appropriations Committee by him. The <br /> requested transfer from the Reserve Fund for the study met <br /> requirements but that did not necessarily mean approval by <br /> himself or the Committee . <br /> Clarke-the request for $2500. from the Reserve Fund would be made . <br /> Gary-reauested that the School Committee pass on to the Permanent <br /> Building Committee the feelings of Appropriations on the <br /> A2500. for the study. <br /> BUSSING <br /> Clarke-a study of school bussing was requested two years ago. <br /> Bussing is the largest increase in the School budget and is a <br /> critical problem. He would appreciate help from Appropriations . <br /> Gary-requested a study of different towns who have their own <br /> bussing equipment . <br /> JUNIOR HIGH <br /> Clarke-advised that architects were being consulted and inter- <br /> viewed by the PBC <br /> Gary-questionned had the School Department, in writing, to PBC as to <br /> progress <br /> Clarke-answered in the negative <br /> Gary-auestionned if the School Department had suggested any <br /> changes to PBC <br /> Clarke-stated that the School Department had requested a Junior <br /> High with a 900 capacity with flexible grouping of students . <br /> The educational specs are the same and he hopes the structure <br /> will be held to 120,000 square feet <br /> Gary-felt there is a need in the mandate for a redesign reflec- <br /> ting economies . <br /> Clarke- stated there is a lot of work to be done and a special <br /> Town Meeting in January would be up to PBC <br /> Chairman Gary invited the School Committee to meet with the Ap- <br /> propriations Committee and the meeting with the School Committee was <br /> closed at 8:45 P.M. <br /> Appropriations reconvened in the Comptroller' s Office and upon <br /> motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to congratu- <br /> late Louis Zehner, as Chairman of the Town Report Committee, on the <br /> Town Report being awarded First Prize for last year. <br /> Chairman Gary stated that perhaps a copy of the Minutes of the <br />
