Flynn Secretary 1.0 The Appropriations Committee held a meeting on Monday, September 29, 1969, at 7:45 P.M., in the Comptroller' s Office, Town Office Building. Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, Edward E . Furash, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, J. Harper Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Jack L. Mitchell, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller and Donald B. White . At approximately 8:00 P.M. Selectmen Robert Cataldo, Chairman, Fred Bailey, Allan Kenney and Irving Mabee joined the meeting along with Logan Clarke, Jr. , Chairman of the School Committee. GREY NUNS PROPERTY Cataldo-stated that the Selectmen were unanimously agreed that a study of the Grey Nuns property should be made and he wished to have put on record that they were also unanimously agreed that $2500. should be transferred from the Reserve Fund Clarke-stated that the School Committee joins the Selectmen in wanting outside study to evaluate if the property is or is not an opportunity for the Town Gary-questionned are they interested only as a school building Clarke-stated that the property is an opportunity the Town should have a hard look at Kenney-stated that the value of acquiring the school at its pre- sent asking price is not sensible, but the study would get a judgment of how much it would cost for a satisfactory elementary school Gary-asked should the Town acquire the property whether there is the need for another elementary school or not Cataldo-said he cannot say. They want professional advice as to the proper price tag on the building. It is a business venture
