Flynn <br /> Secretary <br /> 1.0 <br /> The Appropriations Committee held a meeting on Monday, September 29, <br /> 1969, at 7:45 P.M., in the Comptroller' s Office, Town Office Building. <br /> Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, Edward E . Furash, Vice <br /> Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, J. Harper Blaisdell, Levi G. <br /> Burnell, Jack L. Mitchell, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller and Donald B. <br /> White . <br /> At approximately 8:00 P.M. Selectmen Robert Cataldo, Chairman, Fred <br /> Bailey, Allan Kenney and Irving Mabee joined the meeting along with <br /> Logan Clarke, Jr. , Chairman of the School Committee. <br /> GREY NUNS PROPERTY <br /> Cataldo-stated that the Selectmen were unanimously agreed that a <br /> study of the Grey Nuns property should be made and he wished <br /> to have put on record that they were also unanimously agreed <br /> that $2500. should be transferred from the Reserve Fund <br /> Clarke-stated that the School Committee joins the Selectmen in <br /> wanting outside study to evaluate if the property is or is <br /> not an opportunity for the Town <br /> Gary-questionned are they interested only as a school building <br /> Clarke-stated that the property is an opportunity the Town should <br /> have a hard look at <br /> Kenney-stated that the value of acquiring the school at its pre- <br /> sent asking price is not sensible, but the study would get a <br /> judgment of how much it would cost for a satisfactory <br /> elementary school <br /> Gary-asked should the Town acquire the property whether there is <br /> the need for another elementary school or not <br /> Cataldo-said he cannot say. They want professional advice as to <br /> the proper price tag on the building. It is a business venture <br />
