Lexington Council for the Arts <br />Approved Minutes for meeting held January 13, 2014 <br />Annual Report Update <br />Diana showed website platform for annual report on the room’s projector. Diana <br />completed submission of annual report during the meeting. <br />2013 Grants <br />Five outstanding grants remain, see Treasurer’s Report, above. Cristina is sending <br />postcard reminders that reimbursements are due end of Feb. 2014. Failure to meet <br />deadline results in loss of funds. Extension requests must be made by same date. <br />2014 Grants (Denial Letters) <br />Cristina and Jessie sent Disapproval Letters on December 12, 2013. Applicants were <br />invited to request reconsideration if they felt grants had met our criteria. None were <br />returned for reconsideration. We are now in position to send out the grant award <br />letters. <br />Current Membership <br />Victoria Campos will be taking on new projects and therefore will be stepping down <br />from the Council. We will have two vacancies. When we consider possible new <br />members, we suggest asking two new people to come on board for a one year term to <br />begin staggering terms. Lynne Pease suggested selecting a member to shorten his/her <br />term to avoid having so many seats risk turning over in the same year. Group felt it <br />would be better to have one or two of us volunteer, or to bring on two new people <br />with the one year term. <br />2014 Overview <br />Members had brief discussion of upcoming projects with possible outline of major <br />topics for upcoming meetings, including: <br />February – Fundraising; March 10 – Participation in Patriots’ Day Parade <br />thth <br />April 14 – Open Studios (April 26 - 27); May 12; June 9… <br />We would like to be able to improve Lexington community arts calendar and <br />discussed reaching out to Fred Johnson and Deb Jackson to learn status of their <br />efforts to engage in an annual community calendar discussion. Cheryl will contact <br />Deb, Jessie will contact Fred. <br />Old business – <br />Outstanding Action Items were updated by Cristina <br />Bridge school reimbursement <br /> – Cristina contacted Annie Roy <br />LCO grant <br /> – Cristina will put on agenda for future meeting <br />Folk dance discrepancy <br /> – Reimbursed for $250.00 and listed on proper form <br />Gallery Schedule <br /> – Zoe & Emily are communicating about show that is up at Munroe <br />through this month. Open Studios will be in the space next. <br />LCC Funding # of grants <br /> – Cristina reviewed this with Jennifer Attwood at MCC <br />and we do not have to fund all grants. <br />LCA minutes <br /> – Zoe is posting old minutes to web so they are accessible. <br />2 <br /> <br />
