MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION OF TOWN FINANCE COMMITTEES <br /> HELD AT THE HOTEL SHERATON, BAY STATE ROAD, BOSTON, MASS. <br /> ON TUESDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 14, 1943. <br /> The members of our Committee present at this meeting <br /> were as follows : <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt, Chairman <br /> Ronald D. Brown Harvey F. Winlock <br /> Richard T. Maynard Thacher Jenney <br /> Raymond L. White, Town Accountant <br /> The dinner was served at 6:30 P.M. at a cost of 131.85 <br /> per plate. <br /> Morris B. Lambie was the first speaker and he explained <br /> the contents of the book that he passed out, giving the compara- <br /> tive status of 83 Cities and Towns in the Boston Metropolitan Cen- <br /> sus District. <br /> Danforth W. Comins, Executive Secretary, had on the <br /> platform Bulletin A pamphlets for each member of the different <br /> Town Finance Committees. <br /> Mr. Danforth V% Comins spoke about the salary adjust- <br /> ments due to the increased cost of living and stated that Needham <br /> had voted a 20% increase and Arlington had raised their bonus 5% <br /> more. <br /> Mr. Danforth W. Coming asked how many Towns had given <br /> a bonus in the form of a salary adjustment in the year of 1942, <br /> and 16 members representing 16 Towns raised their hands. <br /> The same Towns were asked if they had given an addit- <br /> ional salary adjustment in 1943. Fifteen raised their hands. <br /> Then they were again asked if additional adjustments <br /> were to be given in 1944. Twelve raised their hands. <br /> Braintree has voted a 15% bonus. <br /> Dedham has voted a 15% bonus, with a maximum of $ 00.00 <br /> and a minimum of 3200.00. <br />
