Comins stated that the result of a <br /> recent survey showed that in the year 1942 thirteen Towns gave <br /> temporary increases, eighteen Towns gave permanent increases. <br /> In the year 1943, forty-four Towns gave increases and <br /> one Town did not. Twenty-two Towns gave temporary increases, <br /> eighteen Towns , .ve permanent increases and there was no infor- <br /> mation from four Towns. <br /> Mr. Searles of the Division of Accounts spoke and one <br /> item in particular that he mentioned was Chapter 708 where muni- <br /> cipalities must make up the amount of contributions which em- <br /> ployees would have made if they were not in the Armed Forces. <br /> He said that Chapter 419, Acts of 1943, requires an appropriation <br /> from the Town of at least 50% of contkibutions to the Retirement <br /> System for employees in the Armed Forces. <br /> Mr. Danforth T.
