Veterans’ Day, Thursday, November 11, 2010 <br /> <br />Approvals. Suzie is awaiting approval for use of an alternate facility in case of rain. <br /> <br /> <br />Invitations. The invitation list will be extended to include John Lucente, president, Lions Club <br /> <br />and David Brother, president, Rotary Club. <br /> <br />Clergy. Rabbi Carey Brown, Temple Isaiah, will deliver the invocation and benediction. <br /> <br /> <br />Chief Marshal. An invitation has been extended. <br /> <br /> <br />Essay contest. Mary Gillespie is contacting the schools. Submitted essays will be read and <br /> <br />th <br />decisions made at the November 4 meeting. <br /> <br />Publicity. Essay contest details will appear in The Lexington Minuteman, Colonial Times, a <br /> <br />poster in Lexington center and at Lexingtonpatch.com. <br /> <br />Flowers for attending veterans. Sandy Podgorski will write to Wilson Farms asking for a flower <br /> <br />donation. <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 18, 2011 <br /> <br />This year’s budget is the same as 2009-2010. <br /> <br /> <br />Parade invitation letters will be mailed on October 14, 2010. <br /> <br /> <br />The Mt. Pleasant Area High School band, Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania would like to march this <br /> <br />year. Suzie is looking into the details. <br /> <br />Suzie asked the committee for suggestions on additional invitations to the afternoon parade. <br /> <br /> <br />Members were asked to think of and discuss suggestions for chief marshal at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />The Town Celebrations Committee and Chamber of Commerce will work together on fund- <br /> <br />raising. <br /> <br />Suzie is looking into new name tags and possibly jackets for committee members. <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Miller raised the issue of Douglas House residents’ difficulty accessing the reenactment and <br /> <br />parade. <br /> <br />Lexington 300 (2013) Meeting <br />th <br /> <br />The kick-off meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 7 pm, Cary Hall. <br /> <br />Invitations have been sent to all interested groups. <br /> <br />Events will span September 2012 to September 2013, with a substantial event planned for <br /> <br />March 30, 2013 (the actual day of the town’s incorporation). <br />th <br /> <br />The 300 is a subcommittee of the Town Celebrations Committee.
