<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />January 13, 2011 <br />Town Office Building, Room 111 <br /> <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Dick Crogan, Linda Dixon, Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Sondra Lucente, Wayne <br />Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski, and Bob Tracey <br /> <br />Members not present <br />Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, Charlie Price, John Rossi, Jim Shaw and David Taylor <br /> <br /> <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />The December 2, 2010 minutes were approved with one change. <br /> <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 18, 2011 <br /> <br />The committee discussed suggestions made last year to improve upon the events of the <br /> <br />day. <br /> <br />Suzie will send an e-mail to everyone announcing the planning meeting for town <br /> <br />departments and all others scheduled for Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 9:30 am in <br />the Selectmen’s meeting room. <br /> <br />A meeting with town departments (police, DPW, possibly fire), Lexington Minutemen, <br /> <br />th <br />10 Regiment of Foot, Town Celebrations Committee and the Commission on Disability <br />is still in the planning stages. Items to be discussed are accessibility of Patriots’ Day <br />events, including the reenactment and afternoon parade. Other events for that day will <br />need to be looked at as well. <br /> <br />Youth parade and ceremony on the green <br /> <br />Committee members feel that the morning parade is well organized and runs smoothly. <br /> <br /> <br />There was discussion again about assigning a committee member as <br /> <br />organizer/facilitator to keep things moving at the ceremony on the green. <br /> <br />A suggestion was made to have each speaker escorted to the podium by a Minuteman <br /> <br />or two. <br /> <br />
