They made several recommendations, <br />some of which have been implemented. One recommendation that has not been implemented <br />yet, but discussed at goal setting, was the creation of an Economic Development Officer. If it is <br />the Board’s intention to pursue an Economic Development Officer position for the Town of <br />Lexington, Mr. White will prepare a report by mid-September that will include a budget, <br />comprehensive analysis, and a plan. <br />Mrs. Eddison is a big supporter of this position. She suggests the duties and responsibilities be <br />expanded upon to include working with state agencies and local banks, all of which have access <br />to other programs we are not aware of. She would be happy to help expand upon the job <br />description. <br />Mr. Fenn stated that one major role of the Economic Development Officer is to help people work <br />through the various approval procedures that a particular project might require. Another major <br />role is the promotion of Lexington as a place appropriate for sustainable and environmentally <br />sound businesses. Mr. Fenn is delighted to see this move along. <br /> <br />
