Minutes Town Celebrations Committee April 7, 2010 Room 111, Town Hall @ 7:15 pm Members present Suzie Barry, Sally Fisher, Mary Gillespie, Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski, Charlie Price, Jim Shaw and Bob Tracey Not present Jo-Anne Granger, Sondra Lucente, Jerry Michelson and John Rossi Guests Linda Dixon (afternoon parade volunteer) and Henry Liu (Lexington Minuteman) Business  Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm.  The March 31, 2010 minutes were approved and accepted. Patriots’ Day 2010 Reenactment  Minuteman Henry Liu said that the handicap area will be in front of the reviewing stand.  No children will be allowed under the ropes again this year at the Minuteman statue and bleacher areas.  The media section may be smaller this year.  The committee discussed the Sam Adams Brewery’s effort to collect Minutemen signatures in order to petition that Patriots’ Day be made a national holiday. There are timing and logistics issues surrounding their wish to collect signatures on the morning of the reenactment which, for one, would cause delays in the start of the parade and successive events.
