<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />April 7, 2010 <br />Room 111, Town Hall @ 7:15 pm <br /> <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Sally Fisher, Mary Gillespie, Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy <br />Podgorski, Charlie Price, Jim Shaw and Bob Tracey <br />Not present <br />Jo-Anne Granger, Sondra Lucente, Jerry Michelson and John Rossi <br />Guests <br />Linda Dixon (afternoon parade volunteer) and Henry Liu (Lexington Minuteman) <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />The March 31, 2010 minutes were approved and accepted. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day 2010 <br /> <br />Reenactment <br /> <br />Minuteman Henry Liu said that the handicap area will be in front of the <br /> <br />reviewing stand. <br /> <br />No children will be allowed under the ropes again this year at the Minuteman <br /> <br />statue and bleacher areas. <br /> <br />The media section may be smaller this year. <br /> <br /> <br />The committee discussed the Sam Adams Brewery’s effort to collect Minutemen <br /> <br />signatures in order to petition that Patriots’ Day be made a national holiday. <br />There are timing and logistics issues surrounding their wish to collect signatures <br />on the morning of the reenactment which, for one, would cause delays in the <br />start of the parade and successive events. Henry Liu will talk with the captain of <br />the Minutemen to express the committee’s concerns, get more details and <br /> <br />
