Veterans’ Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2009
Town Celebrations Committee was given permission to use the school
??
administration parking lot to assemble and battle green for the ceremony.
We are waiting to hear from the Facilities Department for permission to use
of Cary Hall in case of rain.
Invitations to our guests need to be prepared.
??
Clergy guest at the ceremony will be Shirley Holdman of the Christian
??
Science Reading Room.
Several names were suggested as chief marshal honorees.
??
Mary Gillespie would again like to involve the elementary, middle and
??
high school students in either Veterans’ or Memorial Day ceremonies by
asking them to submit essays on the subject. It has been done in the past
and is considered a nice community activity. The committee decided to
have the students participate in the Veterans’ Day ceremony. Mary will
organize and oversee the project.

Patriots’ Day Events, Monday, April 19, 2010
In order to streamline the invitation process, a new letter will be written
??
and sent to our marching unit, float and truck/vehicle participants.
