• Bill Mix suggested that the committee could ask the Minutemen sitting on their float to count <br /> people, especially during the early part of the parade route. <br /> • The committee discussed when and where we should ask the Old Guard to perform. It was <br /> suggested that we could ask them to perform on Saturday at Tower Park before the running <br /> battle starts at 4 pm. <br /> • Linda Dixon and Lorain reported that they had met with members of the Town Economic <br /> Development Department who have access to many email lists of people who have indicated an <br /> interest in Lexington. They have offered to create a"newsletter" about Patriots Day and send it <br /> out several times to the email lists between now and Patriots Day. <br /> Patriots' Day 2020: <br /> The following committee members volunteered to be on a sub-committee to develop a proposal to <br /> shorten the route of the parade starting in 2020: June Baer, Bill Mix, Sondra Lucente, Sandy Podgorski, <br /> Linda Dixon, Lorain Marquis. It was recommended that the sub-committee get Police Chief Corr <br /> involved in the discussions. <br /> Approval of Parade Applications <br /> The Committee approved the applications of the following units involving no fees: <br /> • Lexington High School Class of`65 <br /> • IAL <br /> • LexFarm <br /> • Lexington Historical Society <br /> • Lexington Lions Club <br /> • Liberty Ride <br /> • Mahoney's Garden Center <br /> • National Society of DAR <br /> • The Old Guard <br /> • US Coast Guard Auxiliary <br /> • USS Constitution Color Guard <br /> • Waldorf School <br /> • Wilson Farm <br /> The Committee approved the applications of the following units involving fees: <br /> • Bedford Minutemen Company <br /> • Lexington High School Band <br /> • Lexington Police Department Honor Guard <br /> • Lexington Police Explorers <br /> • Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle Corp <br /> • Sudbury Fife and Drum Corp <br /> • Waltham American Legion Band <br /> The following applications were tabled for further discussion: <br /> • HM I"Regiment of Foot <br /> • Tony Barrie Band <br /> • Worcester Sound & Light <br /> The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Suzanne Caton, Co-Secretary <br />
