• Bill Mix suggested that the committee could ask the Minutemen sitting on their float to count people, especially during the early part of the parade route. • The committee discussed when and where we should ask the Old Guard to perform. It was suggested that we could ask them to perform on Saturday at Tower Park before the running battle starts at 4 pm. • Linda Dixon and Lorain reported that they had met with members of the Town Economic Development Department who have access to many email lists of people who have indicated an interest in Lexington. They have offered to create a"newsletter" about Patriots Day and send it out several times to the email lists between now and Patriots Day. Patriots' Day 2020: The following committee members volunteered to be on a sub-committee to develop a proposal to shorten the route of the parade starting in 2020: June Baer, Bill Mix, Sondra Lucente, Sandy Podgorski, Linda Dixon, Lorain Marquis. It was recommended that the sub-committee get Police Chief Corr involved in the discussions. Approval of Parade Applications The Committee approved the applications of the following units involving no fees: • Lexington High School Class of`65 • IAL • LexFarm • Lexington Historical Society • Lexington Lions Club • Liberty Ride • Mahoney's Garden Center • National Society of DAR • The Old Guard • US Coast Guard Auxiliary • USS Constitution Color Guard • Waldorf School • Wilson Farm The Committee approved the applications of the following units involving fees: • Bedford Minutemen Company • Lexington High School Band • Lexington Police Department Honor Guard • Lexington Police Explorers • Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle Corp • Sudbury Fife and Drum Corp • Waltham American Legion Band The following applications were tabled for further discussion: • HM I"Regiment of Foot • Tony Barrie Band • Worcester Sound & Light The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
