fi <br />° z a <br />APRIL 19^ <br />FXI NOi <br />MINUTES OF JUNE 4,1998 <br />Town of Lexington <br />Historic Districts Commission <br />Commissioners in Attendance: Mark DiNapoli, Joann Gschwendtner, and Steve Politi; <br />Associate Commissioners: Walter Bergler, Sara Chase, and Eleanor MacQueen. <br />PETITIONS HEARD: <br />1998 Massachusetts Avenue — Douglas Hobbs presented plans for remodeling an existing <br />staircase which would include exterior work. The Commissioners felt that the plans were not <br />detailed enough nor was there enough specific information on materials. Mr. Hobbs chose not <br />to continue the discussion and left the meeting. The petition was denied. 98 -54. <br />1139 Massachusetts Avenue — John McHugh represented Kathy and Peter Long who are adding <br />to an existing deck. The addition was approved. Certificate 98C -55. <br />1265 Massachusetts — (Mark DiNapoli stepped out for this hearing.) Greg Gaklis of the Gold <br />Star Nursery presented plans for a seasonal sign "Christmas City at" to be added to the existing <br />freestanding sign. It was approved. Certificate 98C -56. <br />669 Massachusetts Avenue — Brian Silverman is doing lead paint abatement. The Commission <br />approved the replacement of the windows. The hearing was continued to allow shutters to be <br />approved if it became necessary to replace them. Certificate 98C -57. <br />7 Muzzey Street — Joyce Quinn presented plans for a projecting sign for the Face & Body Spa. <br />The sign was approved. The hearing was continued to allow consideration of the bracket. <br />Certificate 98C -58. <br />20 Vine Brook Road — Beth and Bob Darabant showed plans for an addition to the rear of their <br />house. The plans as presented were approved. The hearing was continued to allow review of the <br />placement of air conditioning compressors. Certificate 98C -59. <br />13 Hancock Avenue — Chris Hall represented Jim O'Connor. He presented plans for an addition <br />which were approved. Certificate 98C -60. <br />755 Massachusetts Avenue — Michael Procopio represented Nextel which was seeking approval <br />of the screening of air conditioning units at the Folien Church. The hearing was continued. <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS: <br />73 Waltham Street — Bell Atlantic received approval of a wall sign. Certificate 98C -61. <br />1690 Massachusetts Avenue — No one showed to present this petition. <br />55 Waltham Street — Bill Ericson presented plans for a dormer in the back wall.
