Mr.
Davis said that they would like to replace the roof shingles with shingles
of the same material and color and submitted a sample of the proposed mate- j
rial. He said that the gutters are presently wood except for the ones over
the entranceway and they would like to replace all gutters with white alumi-
num gutters. Mr. Davis then said that they would like to ventilate the
attic space and proposed installation of wood louvre ventilators on the
southerly elevation (Highland Avenue) placed above the half round window.
The ventilator would be of rectangular shape and would be 1'8" wide by
2'2" high and located with the top corner 8" from the rake. This would
be of pine and painted to match the dwelling. A discussion about the rela-
tionship of the ventilator to the existing window ensued. Broaco catalog
was used to show different styles of ventilators. Following discussion, a
triangular ventilator (Brosco,~i2668) of pine 6'8" by 2.1 3~4" at apex and
painted to match the dwelling was selected. Four soffit vents under the
gutters (two in f'nont and two in the rear elevations) are proposed. Mr.
Davis then discussed proposed window changes on the rear elevation for the
kitchen and living room. He proposed a Reuten window of either bay or box
style for each room. Folloxing discussion, Mr. Davis xas asked to submit
a scale drawing of said elevation at the July 19th meeting of the Commis-
sion. Mr. Davis then said that they would like to remove side door. and
three steps and replace with a window and also remove dining room window
farthest from the street, close the wall with siding matching existing
wall so that this elevation would have two windows only.
