85 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />February 12, 1945. <br />• A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br />held in the Selectmen's • Room, Town Office! Building, on <br />Monday evening, February 12, 1945, at 7130 P.M. The <br />Members were notified of this meeting by.a notice mailed <br />on February -9, 1945. Chairman Locke, Messrs. Rowse, <br />Sarano and Sheldon were present. The 0lerk was also <br />present. <br />At 7:30 P.M. Mn W. 5..Coubtte, Agent for R. Lock- <br />wood Tower, Philip Tower and"the Estate of William A. <br />Tower, appeared before the Board with Mr. Paxton, Supt. <br />of Public Works. <br />Mr. Corvette informed the Board that the reason for <br />his appearance this evening was due to the fact that <br />he felt it advisable to anticipate time in connection <br />with -the Follen Hill Estates, and would like to be in <br />a position to let out bids at the epd of the war. He <br />said that he had filed an application for a Board of <br />Survey Hearing,•but it was brought to his attention that <br />the Board of survey Regulations require the petitioner <br />to guarantee the necessary street improvements within <br />a certain length of time, and also file a performance <br />bond. Mr. Couette said that he thought it best to appear <br />before the Board informally to acquaint the Board with <br />the project he has in mind. He stated that the layout <br />has been approved by the Planning Board and the Town <br />Engineer has approved the plats and profiles. He presented the <br />layout to the Board and explained the project in detail. <br />lrr. Couette said that he has sold forty-six iota and <br />there are thirty-eight houses built and occupied. He <br />has about thirty lots left to offer for sale, eight of <br />Which he considers taih►end lots. The minimum fromtage <br />of the lots in the development is 100'. <br />Mr. Sheldon asked if it were anticipated at any <br />time to }ave a store located at the rollen Hill Estates, <br />and Mr. ouette replied in the negative. . <br />Mr.-Couette said that he Mould cancel his petition <br />for a Board of Survey Hearing, but he would like very <br />much to have the Board write him a letter stating that <br />the layout, as shown to the Board and approved by the <br />Board, the Planning Board and the Town Engineer, is <br />satisfactory, that it meets the requirements of the Town, <br />at the present time, and is tentatively approved by the <br />Board -of urvey. <br />The Board was unanimously in favor of writing such <br />a letter. <br />Ir. Couette retired at 8t15 P.M. <br />The Clerk was instructed to request Mr. Wrightington <br />to compose the above mentioned letter. <br />
