BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />' November 9, 1971 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on <br />Tuesday, November 9, 1971 at 7:30 p.m. in the new selectmen's meeting <br />room, Town Office Building. Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular <br />members Abbott, Dawes, Sheldon and Wadsworth. Also present were <br />associate members Reed, Emery, Mabee and Mrs. Morey. The photograph <br />for the Annual Town Report was taken by an officer of the police <br />department. <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions, notice <br />having been mailed to the petitioners and to the owners of all property <br />deemed by the Board to be affected thereby as they appear on the most <br />recent local tax list and also advertised in the Lexington Minute -man: <br />Viola T. Norlin - for permission to continue the operation of the <br />Manor Nursery School at 118 Burlington Street. <br />Follen Church Society - for permission, as required under Section <br />25.34 of the Lexington Zoning By -Law, to sell Christmas trees on the <br />premises at 764 Massachusetts Avenue during December 1971. <br />Village Artisans - for permission to erect a sign 7 feet long by <br />19 inches wide on the brick facing of the building at 17 Depot Square. <br />John and Rosins. Busa - for permission to continue operation of a <br />roadside stand dh the premises at 52 Lowell Street. <br />Mary R. Carney - for permission to vary the Lexington Zoning By - <br />Law in order to erect a garage on property at 80 School Street which <br />will have a 7�' side yard instead of the required 10'. <br />Robert Modoono - for permission to continue to operate a stand for <br />the sale of evergreens, shrubs, various other plants, annuals, peren- <br />nials, and garden supplies on lot abutting 192 Woburn Street; also to <br />sell Christmas trees, wreaths, etc. in the appropriate season. <br />Following the hearings the Board made the following decisions, all <br />unanimous: <br />Viola T. Norlin - granted; permit expires November 10, 1972. <br />Follen Church Society - granted for December 1971 and December 1972. <br />Village Artisans - granted, subject to the following conditions: <br />1. The sign shall be subject to the Historic Districts Commission's <br />approval. <br />2. The sign over the door for which Village Artisans has a permit from <br />' the Historic Districts Commission shall not be installed. <br />3. The sign at present installed on the inside of the door shall be <br />removed. <br />4. The building may be illuminated on the exterior by floodlights, already <br />installed, between the hours of 5 and 11 p.m. in the winter time. <br />
