460 <br />Mr. Paxton said that Mr. Cosgrove had contacted some <br />of the property owners on Winter Street. Two property , <br />Winter St. owners approve of the water main extension and their <br />water main assessments amount to $90.00; two are decidedly against <br />extension it and their assessments amount to $540.00. Three owners <br />have not been contacted yet. The Chairman requested Mr. <br />Paxton to explain to Mr. W. S. Caouette how the matter stood. <br />The Clerk said that Mr. Raymond Bond of Pelham Road <br />Article in had telephoned and requested an article be inserted in ' <br />warrant the warrant for the installation of a street light on the <br />unaccepted portion of Pelham Road. <br />Mr. Potter moved that Mr. Bond's request be granted. <br />Mr. Locke seconded the motion., and it was so voted. <br />Letter was received from William F. Ballard recommend- <br />' ftltha:n St. ing that the necessary action be taken to complete the <br />Widening widening of Waltham Street between Mass. Avenue and Vine <br />Brook Road. Mr. Ballard cited various instances in other <br />towns where similar widenings had benefited both the <br />property* owners and the Town. <br />The Board discussed the matter and instructed the <br />Clerk to inform Mr. Ballard that the Board approved his <br />recommendation and that the Planning Board, the Supt. of <br />Public Works, and the Town Engineer would be requested <br />to submit their opinion on the recommendation. <br />At B x'3 P.N:. Mr. John Bullock appeared before the <br />Board to discuss alleged damages to a lot of land on <br />Sheridan St. owned b y the Bullock heirs. Mr. Bullock <br />said that prior to the Vine Brook Drainage work he had <br />the Bullock heirs sign an agreement that the lot would <br />be graded and seeded and put back into as good condition <br />after the work as before. I <br />Mr. Paxton informed the Board that the beach wagon <br />owned by the Engineering Department had to be taken off <br />Beach <br />the road last week. If the car is to be operated until <br />wagon <br />next April, a new motor will have to be installed at a <br />cost of $?5.00. The car has gone over 50,000 miles. <br />Mr. Paxton recommended the purchase of a new car and <br />said that Mr. F. K. Johnson and he had looked at a <br />suburban wagon which he thought would be ideal for the <br />Engineering Department uses. The machine will cost about'.: <br />$900.00. <br />Mr. Potter moved that an article be inserted in the <br />'Article <br />warrant for the December 30th Town Meeting, to see if <br />in warrant <br />the Town will vote,to purchase a new car for the Engineering <br />Department, the expense to be met by a transfer from the <br />E. !�.
