84 lAb <br />Mr. Custance reported that he understood from <br />the Stete that they are now studying a plan for <br />widening Marrett Road and making four wad traffic ' <br />and when this is done, he felt it would then be time <br />to install traffic signal lights. <br />The Chairman was directed to make whatever changes <br />necessary in the letter prepared by Mr. Custance to be <br />sent to Mr. Delano. <br />Commitment of water charges in the amount of <br />Commitments. $1445.19 and comnittent of sewer charges in the amount <br />of $509.27, were signed by the Board. <br />At the last meeting of the Board, the Chairman <br />was directed to write a letter, to persons who have <br />not connected with the sewer on streets where the main <br />sewer is laid. <br />Upon taking the matter up, the Town Engineer <br />"Serer advised that no notime be sent' out at this time to <br />Connections the abutting owners awing to the fact that there <br />not advised. has been so much trouble with the sewer, and <br />considerable work has been done to try and clear <br />the sewers. Until this matter is straightened out <br />he felt that orders for connecting should not be <br />given. <br />In reference to the hearing on the proposed ' <br />street to run from Allen Street a distance of <br />approximately 600 feet to the Franklin School, <br />,Naming Mr. Trask suggested calling this street Briggs Road <br />Proposed Rd* after the late Georgd E. Briggs who was Representative <br />and a former School Committee man. <br />Mr. Custance reported having taken the matter <br />up with Mr. E. B. Worthen and Mr. Worthen made the <br />suggestion of the name of the man•who formerly owned <br />the property, Mr. Stearns. He also suggested that it <br />might be called Clematis Road q.fter Clematis Brook. <br />No definite action was taken on the matter. <br />'Planning Bd. Letter was received from the Planning Board in <br />re proposed which they stated that, they approved the layout of the <br />lRoad. street proposed fvom Allen Street to the Franklin <br />School, and also recommended that further study be made <br />of other roads in the same locality of the school, <br />looking toward the future. <br />Mass. Ave. Partial return was received from the State Dept. <br />Construction. of Public Works allowing $12,000 on Mass. Av4nue <br />Construction. <br />Application was received from the Lexington <br />Board of Trade asking for the use of Cary Memorial , <br />Hall from October 18-23, The Board voted to grant <br />them the use of the Hall from October 20-22 at the <br />rate of $60, per day for three days, the parti6s to <br />stand all expense of anything above reasonable weak <br />
