114 <br />Permission was r ranted to the Gas Company provided that <br />they place their Maine as indicated by the Town Engineer on <br />plan prepared by him, and under the usual terms and conditions �7 <br />governing street openings. <br />Application was received from Willard P. Reade, 86 Bedford ' <br />Street, for a license to sell ice cream, confectionery, soda <br />water and fruit under Chap. 423 of the Acts of 1909. <br />No action was taken on the application. <br />Application 'for a gasoline tank capacity of 1500 gallons <br />was received from Frederick Lunder-gan of 9 Sylvia St: <br />The Board, deeming that public necessity and convenience <br />do not require a tank at the proposed location, voted not to <br />hold a hearing on same. <br />Application for five galldne a month for the use of the <br />Milk and Plumbing Inspection Departments was received from <br />Andrew Bain. He maintains his own automobile and uses the same <br />on town work. <br />There being no funds in either departments for incidentals <br />and all gasoline used by other departments is to be charged to <br />their account, it was decided not to establish a precedent by <br />allowing free use of the gasoline from the town tank. <br />Letter was received from the School Committee asking that <br />a bill df $50 for legal eervicee rendered by the Town Counsel <br />be charged to the "Law Account." <br />The Board voted to approve the bill. <br />The bid for the painting of Village Hall was awarded to ' <br />Mr. Frank Cogger of Oak Street, at his bid of $360 in accordance <br />with the specifications. Mr. Cogger was requested to paint the <br />building "warm slate". <br />The question of assessment of property was discussed and <br />in this connection it was voted that in all cases where public <br />improvements of a permanent nature, such as water pipes, sewers <br />& lights are placed, that the Assessors be notified of ouch. <br />Mr. Duffy conferred with the Board relative to the con- <br />struction of Bedford Street, from the brook to Elm Avenue. He <br />stated that arrangements -should be made for a conference with <br />the Middlesex & Boston St. Rwy Co. to see how much they are <br />willing to cortribute toward construction. <br />It wan left with Mr. Scamman to arrange the conference for <br />Friday afternoon at 2:30 P. M. <br />It was voted to pay for the entire amount of gasoline bought <br />for the town gasoline tank out of the highway department and to <br />charge amount used by other departments to them, crediting the <br />highway department. <br />This arrangement was satisfactory to the Town Accountant. <br />Mr. turnham reported that nothing definite had been done ' <br />about the Hancock Street regulations. <br />It was decided -to notify the bus companies to "discharge <br />and load their passengers from eight seeing autoe at the Hancock <br />
