Breakfast, Saturday,November 4, 2017 In Review
• Everyone present was in agreement that the Breakfast was a great success except for three
unfortunate mishaps.
o The first mentioned was that there was not enough coffee. It was decided to order twice
as much for the beginning of the breakfast next year.
o The second was that the slide show was not set up so the audience could see it properly.
TCC members were not aware of the problem until they tried to present it at the
breakfast. Now that we are aware of what can go wrong, we need to guard against the
same mistake next year.
o The third mishap was that the principal speaker was unavoidably prevented from
coming until the end of the breakfast when everyone was leaving. There was nothing
we could not have done to avoid this. What to consider for the future is that being
aware of this potential mishap, we might want to have some kind of Plan B in our
pocket.
• Because parking became a problem this year, the idea or having a parking space reserved for
the speaker and perhaps also the photographer was discussed.
• Attendance was good. There were about 175 in attendance, or whom it is estimated that 90
were veterans. In addition, 14 Minutemen, five Selectmen, the Town Manager, nine
representatives from Hanscom Air Force Base and four members of the State House were there.
Also 17 members of the Town Celebrations Committee attended. $195 was collected at the
door. Michelson's Shoe Store gave out 90 tickets and the Community Center gave out 50.
• Servers had been asked to watch the amount served, as last year there was not enough food at
the end. This year one serving was considered to be one sausage, one slice of bacon, one
pancake, one scoop of eggs and one scoop of potatoes. There was plenty of food left over.
