Lorain mentioned that the Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle Corps of Haverhill, MA is seriously <br />interested in participating and is trying to get their group together. <br />Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, 2017 <br />Expenditures on Patriots Day so far amount to $26,505. <br />Kim will contact three groups who normally participate in the parade but have not applied this year: <br />Korean Organization of Lexington; Follen Church; and Lexington Education Foundation. <br />Lorain will meet on Friday with Town Counsel, Town Manager, and Selectman Liaison Peter <br />Kelley to discuss policy re citizens groups, free speech, and expressing political positions in a <br />parade <br />The Girl Scouts are required to have insurance for the vehicle pulling their float in the parade. Mal's, <br />who is donating truck and driver, doesn’t want to absorb the costs of insurance. Can the town help <br />in some way? This will also be discussed at Friday’s meeting with Town officials. <br />Geetha has worked with Lexmedia to produce a 90 second scripted promotional piece using video <br />clippings and still photos. She showed the still photos to the group. This will be an excellent <br />resource for the Committee that can be used in a variety of ways. <br />Gina Johnson will display her Wall of Remembrance at the Masonic Hall all day on Monday, April <br />17 and will set up on Sunday. Information will be included on the committee webpage and Visitors <br />Center schedule. <br />Morning Parade: with the Middle School Band out of the lineup, we will move the LHS Marching <br />Band to the end of the parade. <br />Two buses will pick up the Minutemen at St. Brigid’s parking lot. <br />Kim will be the liaison for the LHS Band and the Spirit of ’76. <br />Cerise will handle Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. <br />Linda will remind Chief Marshal and Aides that they are in both morning and afternoon parades. <br />Ceremony on the Green: Lorain will get names of the Lexington Youth Commission emcees. <br /> Steve Conners will announce the Cecil Harris and Den Fenn Awards from the Minutemen. <br />Marie Hill will announce the Minuteman Cane Award. <br />Peter Kelley will announce the Lexington Youth Commission Award <br />Joe LaMarca, Lions Club President, will announce the Tricorne Hat Award <br />No clergy yet, Karen in contact with LICA. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Linda Dixon, Co-Secretary <br />Future Meetings <br />March 29, April 5; April 12; April 26; <br />May 3; May 10; May 17; May 24; June 7. <br />
