Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, 2017 <br />The Patriots Day stakeholders meeting was held on Thursday, March 9, 10 am, in the Selectmen’s <br />Room in the Town Office building. <br />The committee discussed Mary Hutton’s suggestions about new bands and marching units that <br />might be invited to participate in the parade. Committee asked for more information about the size <br />and cost of the proposed groups before sending applications to them. <br />Sandy reported that she is looking into possible venues for the display of Gina Johnson’s Operation <br />Home Ties Wall of Heroes over Patriots Day weekend. Sandy also reported that she had contacted <br />the Masonic Temple who had been recommended, and was hopeful they would agree to display the <br />Wall. <br />Former TCC member Tanya Morrissett has confirmed that she will recruit a fifer, drummer, and <br />flag bearer to lead off the Parade as the Spirit of ’76. <br />Geetha reported on her progress on creating a video advertisement for Patriots Day activities. She <br />and Sandy will meet Friday to work on it. <br />Linda reported that there is quite a bit of interest from people who have had connections with Bill <br />Tighe, our 2017 Grand Marshal, to march in the parade in his honor. <br />Linda reported that about 20 parade ambassadors have been recruited so far. <br />Cerise asked when the stakes for the parade will be put up.
