<br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />March 15, 2017 <br />Hudson Room, Cary Hall <br />Members Present <br />Lorain Marquis, Chair; Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Karen Gaughan, Cerise Jalelian, <br />Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Henry Murphy, Geetha Padaki, Sandy Podgorski, <br />Members not present <br />June Baer, Glen Bassett, Dick Crogan, Mary Hutton, Paul Jenkins, Linda Levitt, Sondra Lucente, Rich <br />McDonough, Bill Mix, Dave Taylor, Bob Tracey, Sam Zales <br />Business <br />The Chair reported that a quorum was present. <br />The minutes of the meeting of March 8, 2017 were approved as amended. <br />Lorain showed the committee an example of the type of polo shirt that she is proposing the <br />committee members buy to wear at TCC functions. She will send out more details later. <br />The next meeting will be March 22, 2017. <br />Approval of Applications <br />No Fee (2 Units) <br />The Committee approved the following parade units with no fee involved: <br />Minuteman Cane Award – one vehicle. <br />Minuteman National Historic Park – 2 vehicles <br />Fee Requested (1 Unit) – Same as 2016 <br />The Committee approved the following units and fees that represented no change from 2016: <br />New England Vehicle Collectors (Bob Barker) – 13 vehicles <br />Tabled Applications <br />The following applications were tabled until the committee receives further guidance from the Town <br />Counsel and/or the Board of Selectmen: <br />Original Freedom City organization – marchers <br />Minuteman Indivisible organization -- marchers <br />Action on previously tabled applications: <br />The committee discussed how to ensure that the Bhakti Center of Lexington float that is pulled by <br />ropes is fitted with larger wheels for the 2017 parade. Along with the acceptance confirmation packet, <br />Lorain will include a separate letter informing the group that their float will be inspected by the TCC <br />on the day of the parade and will be removed from the parade if the wheels are determined to be <br />inadequate. <br /> <br />
