Town Celebrations Committee Minutes of Meeting March 15, 2017 Hudson Room, Cary Hall Members Present Lorain Marquis, Chair; Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Karen Gaughan, Cerise Jalelian, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Henry Murphy, Geetha Padaki, Sandy Podgorski, Members not present June Baer, Glen Bassett, Dick Crogan, Mary Hutton, Paul Jenkins, Linda Levitt, Sondra Lucente, Rich McDonough, Bill Mix, Dave Taylor, Bob Tracey, Sam Zales Business The Chair reported that a quorum was present. The minutes of the meeting of March 8, 2017 were approved as amended. Lorain showed the committee an example of the type of polo shirt that she is proposing the committee members buy to wear at TCC functions. She will send out more details later. The next meeting will be March 22, 2017. Approval of Applications No Fee (2 Units) The Committee approved the following parade units with no fee involved: Minuteman Cane Award – one vehicle. Minuteman National Historic Park – 2 vehicles Fee Requested (1 Unit) – Same as 2016 The Committee approved the following units and fees that represented no change from 2016: New England Vehicle Collectors (Bob Barker) – 13 vehicles Tabled Applications The following applications were tabled until the committee receives further guidance from the Town Counsel and/or the Board of Selectmen: Original Freedom City organization – marchers Minuteman Indivisible organization -- marchers Action on previously tabled applications: The committee discussed how to ensure that the Bhakti Center of Lexington float that is pulled by ropes is fitted with larger wheels for the 2017 parade. Along with the acceptance confirmation packet, Lorain will include a separate letter informing the group that their float will be inspected by the TCC on the day of the parade and will be removed from the parade if the wheels are determined to be inadequate.
