From 3/8 until 4/12, meetings will be held weekly.
Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, 2017
The Patriots Day stakeholders meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 9, 10 am, in the
Selectmen’s Room in the Town Office building.
June Baer reported that she is investigating Patriots Day activities being held by other towns and
groups, for Visitors Center use.
Bill Mix reported that he has been contacted by an Army group that requested 36 tickets for the re-
enactment. The committee suggested that, rather than give them tickets, an area near the bleachers
could be reserved for them. Bill indicated that he would have more information about this issue by
the next meeting.
Rich McDonough reported that Grace Chapel has agreed to make their parking area around the
church available for Patriots Day visitors. Also, the upper parking area of the Community Center
can be used for Patriots Day visitor parking. After some discussion about the fact that the rest of the
parking area near the Community Center belongs to the Masonic Museum and Library, Rich
volunteered to ask the museum management if their parking area can be used for Patriots Day
visitor parking.
Suzanne reported that the sponsorship request material will be ready to mail next week.
Julie reported that Doug Orr contacted her to confirm that Orr Homes will provide a truck for use by
the Reminisants band in the parade.
Kim told the committee that she has sent budget information to Mary Hutton, who will be handling
the TCC budget going forward.
Kim also told the committee she is ready to order more t-shirts for the parade ambassadors. Linda
Dixon will check how many t-shirts remain from the previous order so Kim can put in a new order
for this year.
Kim reported that no update from the Old Guard has been received yet so we do not know at this
point whether they will be in Lexington for the Patriots Day activities.
Sandy Podgorski reported that there are 150 parking spaces at Lincoln Field that can be used by
Patriots Day visitors.
