<br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />November 30, 2016 <br />Parker Room, Town Offices <br />Members Present <br />Lorain Marquis, Chair; June Baer, Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Carol Flynn, Paul <br />Jenkins, Geetha Padaki, Sandy Podgorski. <br />Members not present <br />Glen Bassett, Dick Crogan, Karen Gaughan, Mary Hutton, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, <br />Cerise Jalelian, Linda Levitt, Sondra Lucente, Rich McDonough, Henry Murphy, Dave Taylor, Bob <br />Tracey, Sam Zales <br />Business <br />A quorum was not present so approval of the minutes of November 16, 2016 was postponed until <br />the next meeting. <br />The next meeting is Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the Parker Room, Town Office Building. <br />Dates to remember: <br />Martin Luther King Day Monday, January 16, 2017 <br />o <br />Patriots Day Monday, April 17, 2017 <br />o <br />Memorial Day Monday, May 29, 2017 <br />o <br />Veterans Day Saturday, November 11, 2017 <br />o <br />Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, 2017 <br />Lorain has started to send out parade applications. She has received 2 applications back already. <br />Also, some groups who will not be participating this year have sent notifications. <br />Gina Johnson may not be able to participate in the 2017 parade. Committee may ask her to set up <br />her display in the Town Hall for Patriots’ Day. <br />Kim Coburn will contact Tanya Morrisett about whether she will be in Lexington for Patriots’ Day, <br />marching as part of the “Spirit of 1776” group. <br />Kim will contact Suzie Barry to ask if she has lists of parade participants for years previous to <br />2014. <br />Grand Marshall for this year will be Coach Bill Tighe. <br />Paul Jenkins will work on arranging cars for the Grand Marshall, White Tricorne Hat recipient, and <br />others in the parade who will need transportation. <br />Sandy Podgorski is working on the Schedule of Events for the weekend, along with June Baer and <br />Suzanne Caton. <br />Getting a parking map for Patriots’ Day is still in progress. June will follow up with the Town <br />Economic Development Department because they are working on developing a visitors’ parking <br />map. <br />The number of Schedule of Event programs to print this year was discussed. The committee <br />decided to print 2500 this year. Copies will be left at the Visitors’ Center, the Community Center, <br />Buckman Tavern, Town Hall, and possibly the Minuteman Park Center. Committee agreed that <br />distribution of the printed schedules should focus on places where out-of-town visitors will be. <br /> <br />
