Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) <br />March 1,2023 Meeting Minutes <br />Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk,the Semiquincentennial Commission <br />(Lex250)convened in a hybrid meeting in person at the Lexington Town Hall and via Zoom <br />video conference on Wednesday,March 1 at 4:36 pm by Ms.Barry as allowed by legislation <br />(S.2475)extending the suspension of certain provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting <br />Law. <br />Members present in person: <br />Suzie Barry,Select Board Member,Chair <br />Mona Roy,Community Representative,Vice Chair <br />Jillian Tung,Music &Arts Representative,Clerk <br />Barry Cunha,Business Representative <br />Jane Hundley,LPS 6-8 Social Science Coordinator <br />Members attending remotely: <br />Cerise Jalelian,Town Celebrations Committee Representative <br />Steve Conners,Reenactment Community Representative <br />Bebe Fallick,Tourism Committee Representative <br />Julie O’Leary,Civic Representative <br />John Rossi,Commission on Disability Liaison <br />1.The meeting was called to order at 4:36 pm by Ms.Barry. <br />2.A motion to approve the minutes of the February 15,2023 meeting was made by Ms. <br />Tung,seconded by Ms.Hundley,and approved by roll call vote. <br />3.A draft of a Lex 250 “Roadshow”PowerPoint presentation created by Ms.Tung was <br />reviewed.Committee members offered feedback and suggested edits.The slide set was <br />created as a resource for committee members discussing Lex 250 activities and plans <br />with community groups,organizations,and stakeholders. <br />4.Ms.Barry provided a debrief of the Patriots’Day stakeholders meeting that was held on <br />2/7/2023.Ms.Barry and Mr.Cunha attended in person.Ms.Tung attended remotely. <br />Logistics of Patriots Day activities were discussed.The possibility of including an <br />encampment among the 2025 events was raised and will be further discussed in <br />upcoming meetings to include Lex 250 members and town staff. <br />5.Ms.Barry provided 250th-related state and federal updates.Funding strategies at the <br />state level were discussed.Ms.Hundley will liaise with education subgroups. <br />6.The group discussed future meeting frequency and decided to move to monthly <br />meetings of the full commission.The Commission will plan to meet on the first <br />Wednesday of every month.Working groups were encouraged to meet more frequently <br />as needed. <br />7.Working group updates <br />a.Community engagement
