LEXINGTON HISTORICAL COMMISSION <br /> MEETING <br /> Room G5 September 15 , 1975 <br /> Lexington Town Office Building 7 : 30 P .M . <br /> Voting members present : Donna Brown, Anne Grady, Richard <br /> Morehouse , Elizabeth Reinhardt . <br /> Thamas Taylor ,Absent . <br /> Public Participation : Mr . Roland Greeley (Lexington Historical <br /> Society,President) Mr . Jeff Shaw (Ass- <br /> istant to Town Manager) <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7 : 37 P .M . Our guests were <br /> introduced to the members . Mrs . Reinhardt provided the agenda . <br /> SATATIONARYStationary has been designed by Mr . Morehouse . He will get a <br /> price quote from Lexington Press to add to the bids from Batrett <br /> Press and Concord Press to compare before ordering . <br /> We discussed with Mr . Greeley the application of the properties <br /> MUNROE in the so-called Munroe district . Applications will be made <br /> DISTRICT individually . The Sanderson house one now in the process of <br /> being rewritten . <br /> The confirmation from Washington on the nomination of the <br /> Hancock School to the National Register should be coming some- <br /> HANCOCK time in the next week . It was suggested again by Mrs . Brown <br /> SCHOOL that the School Committee still should be contacted since <br /> they still have some unanswered questions . Mrs . Reinhardt <br /> advised that since no action was taken by the School Committee <br /> for six months since the notice was sent to them the nomination <br /> was probably considered by default . <br /> Mrs . Reinhardt presented the list of possible memberships in <br /> Organizations in which we might be interested . It was voted <br /> MEMBERSHIP not to join the Bay State League (Historical ) at this time . <br /> We can get information through the Lexington Historical Society <br /> The Victorian Society - no vote - still a possibility . The <br /> National Trust- voted in favor . This allows us to be eligible <br /> to apply' far '=funds ..'sAmerican Association for State and Local <br /> History- Not at this time . We can consider this at a later date <br /> when our program is in better shape . <br /> Mrs . Reinhardt advised us that the following areas are now <br /> complete by the inventory committee . Munroe , East Lexington . <br /> INVENTORY Hancock . The Massachusetts Ave . section of . ihe Battle Green <br /> District is nearly complete . The Center Business District is <br /> next to be done . Pictures have been taken and we have approx- <br /> imately 200 forms filled out . We must discuss with Mr . O ' Connell <br /> about the costs involved with film purchase and developing . <br /> It has been decided that the Stone Building and the Follen Church <br /> EAST DIST . will be nominated separately . <br /> It was suggested that at the time we begin covering the town by <br /> precincts we ask homeowners ,by way of the newspaper , to advise <br /> the committee of any information on properties which will be of <br /> interest . <br />
