Town of Lexington, Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250)

Meeting on Thursday, March 10, 2022
Hosted Virtually via Zoom
4:35 pm- 6:00pm
Being recorded

Members Present: Suzie Barry (Board Chair), Steve Cole (Community Representative), Steven
Conners (Reenactment Community Representative), Bebe Fallick (Tourism Committee
Representative) Julie O’Leary (Civic Representative), Paul O’Shaughnessy (Historical
Organization Representative), Jillian Tung (Music and Arts Representative), Barry Cunha (Local
Business Representative), Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations Committee Representative), Mona
Roy (Community Member Representative)

Meeting called to order: Ms. Barry at 4:35 pm.
The Select Board is in the process of appointing a Lexington School participant.
This Committee will continue to meet via zoom until end of April and then will reassess the
process.

Approval of Minutes:
Upon motion moved and seconded, the minutes of February 23, 2022, as corrected, were
approved by roll call vote.

Logo Contest: Ms. Tung
Wayne Davis, of LexArt Board, chaired the selection committee.
There were forty design concepts from students at four different schools. The selection
panelists were from diverse backgrounds.

Winning design
The winning design is by Lexington High School student, Julien Song.
It is computer designed, scalable up and down, and will work for variety of processes.
The depiction of a musket may be an issue for some; here it represents a well-regulated militia.

First runner up
This submission is different from all others. The panel was struck with the design and the
possibility of use in a variety of other ways. It is hand drawn, and the outline is the tilted map
shape of Lexington. It includes people of color.

Second runner up
This submission evinced artistic and graphic arts ability with clarity of imagery and exciting
stars.
