Mr. Houghton wanted to speak about Mr. Mason, Librarian, before Mr. Mason entered the meeting. Mr. Houghton stated that Mr. Mason needed more than 42,200.00 a year to live pro- perly and that he should receive more as he was qualified and was doing a good job. At present Mr. Mason was working during his spare time to get additional money, so that he and his family could live. Mr. Houghton stated that the Trustees were asking a salary for Mr. Mason at the rate of 42,400.00 per year. At, 9:30 P.M. Reverend Harold T. Handley, Trustee, and Mr. Ralph A. Mason, Librarian, were admitted to this meeting. Car/ Library - Personal Services - Total 111,628.67 Assistants - $6,665.00 is asked for this year against 06,225.00 ap- propriated last year. The increase is due to step-rate increases to three employees of $60.00 per year plus 4100.00 increase to all five employees. Janitors - $2,158.67 is asked for this year against 41.865.40 ap- propriated last year. This increase is due to the increase given to the janitor this year. Librarian - $2,355.00 is asked for this year which is based on $2,400.00 a year salary.
