-2- <br /> At 8:12 P.M. Chairman James J. Walsh of the Cemetery Com- <br /> missioners was admitted to this meeting to discuss the Library De- <br /> partment' s Budgets for the year 1944. <br /> Cemetery Maintenance Munroe - Personal Services ,..- Total 00.00 <br /> Mr. Walsh stated that there was no comment on this budget <br /> as it is the same as last year. <br /> Cemetery Maintenance_- :Jlunroe - rages & Expenses Total $4,356.80 <br /> Mr. Mike Delfino, the No. 1 man, received a $0.60 per hour <br /> wage. Now the Cemetery Department has to pay him $0. 30 per hour in <br /> order to keep him. Mr. William C. Paxton, Superintendent of Public <br /> Works, set the pace as to the wages of laborer' s, so this Department <br /> has to meet it. There is about a 33 1/3% increase in wages. The <br /> Munroe Cemetery figures on one full-time employee, one employee for <br /> forty weeks, and an amount for extra and overtime work. <br /> Mike Delfino - $0.80 per hour $1,996.80 <br /> Employee (40 weeks) - $0.75 per hour 1,440.00 <br /> Extra labor and overtime 400.00 <br /> $3,836.80 <br /> The laborers want time and a half for overtime. Mr. Walsh <br /> stated that the Cemetery charges $10.00 for an ordinary grave and <br /> $12.00 for an extra deep grave. Mr. Walsh stated that the Cemetery <br /> Commissioners propose to advance the rate to possibly $12.00 for an <br /> ordinary grave and $3.50 to $4.00 more for an extra deep grave. <br /> This budget is $973.80 higher than last year' s, but such in- <br /> crease is due to the increase in labor. <br /> Mr. Walsh stated that there were a number of sunken graves <br /> which had to be taken care of this year. <br /> Cemetery Maintenance - ;�testview - Personal Services - Total $600.00 <br /> The superintendent' s salary is increased 1100.00, as last <br /> year $400.00 was appropriated. Mr. Walsh recommends this increase. <br /> Mr. Marshall' s salary was reduced $100.00 about four year' s ago, due <br /> to Mr. Walsh' s recommendation. <br /> Cemetery Maintenance - Westview - Wages & Expenses _Total X641.80 <br /> The labor situation is the same as for Munroe Cemetery. It <br /> is made up as follows : <br />
