Hoyt asked the members of the School <br /> Committee if they considered that they were up against an emer- <br /> gency situation in regards to salaries and the School Committee <br /> replied that they thought they were. <br /> Janitors - The amount asked for- this year includes the <br /> increases granted to janitors last summer. <br /> Health - Nurse - Eighteen hundred dollars is requested <br /> this year or a ;3100.00 increase over last year. <br /> School Maintenance - Expenses <br /> Supplies - High School - Three thousand three hundred <br /> twenty-five dollars is requested this year against €3,725.00 ap- <br /> propriated last year. <br /> Fuel - It isn' t possible to buy fuel nor if one has a <br /> thirty-days' supply on hand. This is the U.S. Government res- <br /> triction. <br /> Repairs - Five thousand dollars is requested this year <br /> against ' 4,500.00 appropriated last year. <br /> Transportation - Seven thousand seven hundred eighty- <br /> five dollars is requested this year against ` 7,261.00 appropriated <br /> last year. The Middlesex Pr Boston Street Railway Co. busses are <br /> used which have proved very satisfactory. <br /> ?r. Thomas S. Grindle asked if this Committee were going <br /> to talk to them again before the salary situation is settled. Mr. <br /> Hoyt, Chairman, stated that they would. <br /> The School Committee left the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br /> rr. A. Edward Rowse, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, <br /> entered this meeting at 9:45 P.M. , concerning the request from <br /> the Assessors and Registrars Departments for additional money so <br /> that the Polls may be listed in December 1943, while the weather <br /> is good. The request from each Department is X200.00. <br /> Hr. Rowe then spoke about the Torn Reports. The Board <br /> of Selectmen had approved a report similar to the Town of Green- <br /> field. Hr. Carl Veano appeared before the Selectmen in reference <br /> to the Town Reports andstated that the Spaulding Moss Company <br /> only printedthem for the Town of Greenfield. Mr. Rowse said that <br />
